I sent an email to Wes at M.S.T.N and was asking what size Knights FF RAS my Bushy M4 with the Mini Y comp welded on would use. He stated that I could not use the FF RAS because of the welded on MINI Y. Is there any whay around this? Can I dremmel of the D-Ring or is there another fix for it? I want to go with a FF type of system. Thanks for any help you can give me.

I may be mistaken, and if I am I know some one will correct me. But I am pretty sure the FF RAS systems require you to change the barrel nut. If that is in fact the case, you would need to remove the pbrake to do it.

If all you want is a free float rail system. Try the ARMS SIR system. They have two models, The "C" model will slip right on your upper, all you need to do is take the handguards off.

The "M" model requires you to remove the delta ring. Easiest way is to just dremel it off. However, both work with the existing barrel nut and will work with your rifle.

Wes is pretty much right on, since you have a welded on muzzle brake, therefor you are SOL on installing any free float handguard other then the ARMS SIR. The upcoming RAS2 would also be of consideration, but the release date on it is still unknown.

You could have your local gunsmith find the pin and drill it out, then he will have to rechase the htread and re attach a new muzzle brake after the installation of the FF RAS.  I have seen it done, it is just a lot of work.
Stick to New-ARguy's suggestion, get the SIR, you won't regret it.  It is light weight, and it keeps your rifle cool under fire. besides, the cool factor is way up there.
