I have a original all colt AR15 in 9mm stamped 9mm carbine. It came from the factory with bayonet lug, flash hider and collapse stock. Bought around 1994 ser # TA127xx I assumed it was a preban all these years. I tried to sell it recently and was told that the serial #'s shows it as a post ban. How could that be and how could it come from the factory like that. Will I get into trouble for having a post ban reciever with preban parts? I will try to call colt and see what's the deal.

Your serial mumber is a post ban. It's a model 6450? Do you still have your receipt? If the dealer is still around and you still have your reciept i'de start with them. If no response I would then call colt. Next until this clears up remove the upper and lower and store in different places to cover your ass. Rumor has it that BATF doesn't have a preban/ postban serial list, but better safe than sorry.

Don't kid yourself!
If we have the list, so do they.
