As middle age has crept up, iron sights aren't as much fun as they used to be and I'm new to telescopic sights, so please bear with me.

Other than features, what is the primary difference between 49212 and 51850?  Both 3.5-10x40, both mildot but one is long-range.  What is the distinction in usable optic features or quality?  Thanks for the help.

The less expensive of the 2 is a 1" tube without parrallax adjustment.
The other is a 30mm side focus scope.
there are 2 of those as well:
the M3 has cams for different calibers and much courser adjustment. I believe 1 moa for Elev. and 1/2moa for windage.
The M1 has higher Turrets and .25 moa adjustments.

You ask what's the difference "other than features". There is no quality difference as far as optics or durability between the two.  It's just features.  Main difference being range of adjustment for the reticle.

49212 is 51 inches at 100 yards.
51850 is 65 inches at 100 yards.

30mm tube allows the reticle to move further up and down giving you more range of adjustment, hence the name "long range".
