This is not the norm. Contact the seller of the barrel and send it back. You could find a competent gunsmith and see if he/she can take care of the problem. However, the cost would be on you and if you have any kind of issue after that, it is your problem. My best advise is send it back!

If that's what it is, something is wrong.
Faxon will Fixit. . . . |

A couple people are reporting this problem.
There also seems to be at least one issue with a chamber. I can't do it until Monday but I'll be checking my 5 barrels. |
|
I ordered 5 barrels as well. Haven't been in town to build anything yet.
I'll check them out tomorrow and post back. |
|
Add me to the list with an issue. I have that bump in my chamber, and a loaded round will wiggle when dropped in the chamber.
Video link I also sent this video to the Faxon IG page. |

Thanks for additional info, gents.
Please send anything else to my email, so we can converse on details and troubleshooting. As always, we will fix any issues. Thanks! |
|
Just FYI, the rest of us from the 12"barrel but are interested to know of any developments in this situation, so while you might do the troubleshooting privately, some updates her or elsewhere would be appreciated.
My 2 barrels might be loose as demonstrated in the video, but I'm not sure what the tolerances are really supposed to be, so I'm not sure if there is actually an issue or not. |

That's great to hear, so how should I proceed? I'm guessing there's nothing more I can learn about this barrel, and that it just needs to be sent to you to be looked at. You want me to email you and get an RMA # or something similar? View Quote We're equally impatient when it comes to any issues - rest assured we'll get it resolved 100%. |

I wasn't insinuating anything or trying to sound accusatory... I just know that once things go offline (or PM) the thread tends to die. There are tons of archived threads where there is a problem outlined and I'm excited to find that someone else had the same problem I did, only to be disappointed that the thread just kind of went dark and no solution/resolution was ever posted. This thread sounded like it was going that way, so I just wanted to point out that there are other people following this thread hoping to see how it goes.

Gents- Update as promised.
We just sent the following out to all buyers from the first group buy that we had e-mail addresses for: Esteemed Customers and Friends- Faxon Firearms is writing to you to notify you of a return and replacement program for the 12.5” Grendel barrels from the first Grendel Forum “Group Buy.” With your assistance, we found the alignment pin protruding into the chamber which was limited to this particular batch of barrels. This error falls far short of the Quality expectation we hold for ourselves and we apologize for letting you down. Faxon would like to bring the barrels from this batch back for replacement. Due to special tooling used for the Group Buy barrels, we will be manufacturing the barrels anew for replacement. ETA is about 5 weeks from this notice for the replacement. The return and replacement process will be handled by Faxon Firearms directly. All shipping is on us and you can expect a gift from Faxon with the replacement barrels. To start this process, please reply to this e-mail ([email protected]) with the following information: Name: Address: Phone Number: E-Mail: Number of Barrels: Faxon will send a pre-paid Fedex label via e-mail for the return of the barrel. We will likewise return the barrel via Fed-Ex upon their completion. Thank you for the opportunity to serve you. We apologize again and hope that our Service will earn your trust along with the new barrels. Sincerely, The Faxon Firearms Team |

I don't own a Faxon barrel, yet. But, you folks are a class act! You can bet my next barrel purchase will be a Faxon!

Just did my email reply. Gives me more time to figure out what I'm going to do for the build.

@RogueNathan
Sent my e-mail reply yesterday, how long does it typically take for your customer service peeps to reply/acknowledge? Just wondering. |

Sent out my barrel today, thanks for getting right on this. I have plenty of confidence you guys will make it right with these.

Any chance you could sleeve the chambers into 6.5 patriot or something. Hate to see all those barrels go to waste.

Hey Nathan, just curious...returned my barrel and FedEx says it was received on the 22nd. Do you typically send a confirmation e-mail or anything? Just wanted to make sure.
|
|
Finally get my barre sent back a few days ago. Looking forward to to getting that upper put back together.

I have not received any tracking information or any communication. I never received any barrels from this groupbuy.
What a joke. |
|
@RogueNathan
I've really tied to give Faxon the benefit of the doubt, but your customer service/communication is abysmal. People in the group buy are reporting that they received barrels back today while I haven't received so much as an e-mail with tracking info OR an update. And I returned mine IMMEDIATELY, even posted about it here .. And despite being promised a "gift" to make good for our troubles, nobody received anything extra. I honestly don't care about extra swag, but don't promise us extra "gifts" to sate us while you blown past promised delivery dates and then send us nothing. That just adds insult to injury. I have received ZERO communication since I sent my barrel back, not even a SIMPLE CONFIRMATION E-MAIL THAT IT WAS RECEIVED. All I have for that was my shipment tracking notification from FedEx which thankfully I saved, because I have no confidence I'm getting anything back right now due to lack of communication. Literally the ONLY communication I have received from Faxon is you sporadically responding to posts on this thread or over at the Grendel forum. And thus far even those posts have been pretty far off the mark, as 5 promised weeks have turned to 12+. This has been a disaster, not because you guys jacked up the barrels, but because the customer service response has been well below sub-par. I bought one barrel from Faxon prior to this and was very happy with it, but this Grendel one certainly my last. I will gladly return to companies like Ballistic Advantage that have never burned me. I tried to go Faxon because of the promise of better quality, but I consider myself burned. |
