I have read in several discussions on various forums that SilencerCo pistons for the Octane/Osprey lines are interchangeable with the Revolution 45 and it works fine that way. Is there any truth to this?

Their pistons fit our cans, ours don't fit theirs.  We increased the outside diameter for a tighter fit and that makes our pistons not compatible with the octane cans.

We also make pistons and offer them on our website.

So the 1/2 x 28 piston that came with my Rev9 won't work in the Osprey that I have waiting on a form 4?  That sucks, for me one of the selling points of the Revolution line was that you could interchange pistons with the Silencerco cans.

The Silencer Co pistons work in revolution cans but may be just slightly less closely toleranced than our pistons.  Our pistons may fit in their cans or might be slightly too tight.  We're talking .002-.003" at the piston teeth up front only.  We want the cans to line up as well as possible to reduce the risk of baffle strikes as much as possible.

Thanks for the clarification. I was thinking it would be larger at the O ring. I have had my Rev9 for two months now and have been shooting it a lot.  I had the fixed barrel spacer in it Sunday and when I switched the spring back in there was some carbon build up on the piston teeth area but it cleared out in a few seconds working the piston by hand on the barrel.
