| I just got the email that my stamp came in. It's too far a drive for me to make it to Austin so I filled out the 4473 and am having it shipped. I was reading about the wait while you send paperwork to my CLEO even though it's on a trust. I have a few questions: Has this always been the case? What paperwork do you send them? Is it the 4473 or the Form 4? |

Is it the 4473 or the Form 4? It's not a Texas wait, it's federal. It's the same process for a non-over-the-counter firearm transaction. I've done the same thing in NC. They send them notification, and wait the 7 days. It's not asking permission, it's just an FYI. I'd imagine most LEO toss it. (I believe it's a copy of the 4473, maybe a letter with it?...but it's not the F4). Here's the actual process. Here is the process in a little easier to read format...I think that one is current. It replaces the 4473 Part II. |
