I'm really a big fan of the super duty rifles and this is my biggest dilemma DDC, odg, or 40mm in 14.5. I'm going for OD because I have plenty of FDE rifles, a DDC Super Duty 16 and a DDC Geissele Mk1 on a Colt with FDE/Coyote furniture. Think I'm gonna move sooner rather than later on backordering with my 35% coupon, before August catches me by surprise. Though I'm not a fan of pin welds, I have a SOCOM RC2 waiting for F4 approval and I have no problem since the rifle is equipped with a Surefire mount. |

Don’t order the ODG. I had held an 11.5 ODG upper at a LGS and the color between the receiver and rail looked great, hardly any deference. Because of that, I ordered one of the 11.5 pistols in ODG. Opened the box when it came in and we thought that they sent me a blem. I can’t really complain, I signed a waver indicating that there could be a minor difference. Get the LB and pay to have it coated.

I was expecting the candy apple green when I ordered it but it's definitely a darker OD that is pretty nice. That makes me want the 40mm just to have something unique. I just told myself I'm going to use this coupon on a complete SD so I don't really care about colors or matching anodizing at all. I do want something different just because so 50 shades is great too. |

I own a FN SCAR, and we all know how good those are at color matching. |

Thanks for the heads up, but I have the option of backordering a 16 ODG and applying my 35%. Would prefer a 14.5 though as I already have 16" DDC and black. |

Been piecing together 2 all Geissele lowers for work (leo) for me and a coworker and we were going to get the leo uppers this year to finish them off. Ordered two Geissele parts kits from Brownells over a Memorial Days sale last May. That order went to backorder quick. Contact with Brownells is horrible and they have no eta as of late. Geissele contact was excellent, told me this week they hope to ship them out to dealers by this summer. Never thought I'd wait over a year for a lpk, but here I am. Now to see if there is a wait list for the leo uppers.

Wont know until my card is charged or the FFL calls though haha. G never could figure out my email address but they called to confirm I was ok with the switch to the closed tine flash hider. |

View Quote That was the original problem with my order. They could not email me. I have had this address for years and they had my phone number, but it was only after I saw people back in November saying they received the same rifle that I had to contact them and change my account. Clearly there is an issue on their end. |

My 14.5 Luna Black came in. Rail is gray without any markings. No engraving or lettering at all. I get that the anodizing can be off, it’s straight up gray, but no markings? Anyone else?

The rails for the guns usually don't have any markings. Its extremely rare if they do. With anodize the shade can look different depending on the lighting but if you see gray across all spectrums, hit us up at [email protected] and one of our techs will look into that with you to help make that right.

My Luna black showed up today and the rail is black, maybe not the same as the lower or upper but it's not gray. Gotta wait 10 days to bring it home, WA sucks.

Quoted: Just received the same rifle. Rail looks pretty darn grey to me. View Quote I have to agree with the other two guys. Picked mine up yesterday, rail looks like a bluish gray. Not sure what Geissele does different in their anno process compared to other manufactures. All I have are BCMs to compare it to, but for Geissele top tier price tag, I would have expected better. Maybe that is why they have you sign off on their "Anodize Shade Variations and Finish Methods". |

It seems ever other manufacturer can get black to be black. Heck even the Geissele 11.5 duty upper I got on Black Friday is a good matching black. |

It’s not super drastic, but if you look the rail definitely looks blue/grey at certain angles. |

Got to check my 14.5” SD rifle today. Was pretty cool how it showed up vacuum sealed in the package. Was super oily. You could buy one and keep it sealed up and bury it in your back yard! Though that was pretty cool. Felt much lighter than I expected. Will see how it feels with optics and accessories once it is out of jail. Pic attached to show some of oil haha...

Interesting. I've got a 16" SD from black friday when they first released that is a pretty good match all the way down. Have an 11.5" pistol on backorder now so we'll see if it looks different. Honestly I don't care about the color match. It's going to get scratched and banged around as I use it anyway. |

I have a few MK4 rails in different lengths. They are black. Not light black or blue black or gray black, just black. They are also marked telling you the brand and what kind of rail it is. My URGI is also marked showing it’s a Geissele product.
This new $1875 rifle looks like a Moonshine rifle, it is just missing the Blemula. They jacked up the rails on this batch. Period. Someone in QC stood around and had a discussion on whether to send them out like this, I am sure of it. Here is the picture of the rifle on their website- black rail with engraved or roll marked logo. Attached File |
