All I can say is she was well worth the wait... also gave me some time to put together some additional funds for accessories. https://i.ibb.co/gM9MvB1/DSCN0361.jpg https://i.ibb.co/mrjGhFy/DSCN0364.jpg View Quote |

Quoted: I picked up my ADK yesterday and at first glance my thought was, “this looks like DDC.” After I got it home and got it out of the plastic I can tell you it’s definitely not DDC. It’s hard for a photo to do it justice, but the greenish hue of the RAL 7008 is noticeable. The color difference is even more noticeable when compared side by side with my DDC URGI upper. IMHO the is very unique. I dig it. The anodizing is close, but slightly different between the rail, upper, lower and CH. Personally that is one of the thinks I like about ano, slightly different shades. Overall good I think this rifle was well worth the wait. Thank you Mr Geissele! View Quote |

The only complaint I have is the fitment of the buttplate I took off the Geissele rifle and put on the C1 stock. It's got a bit of a lip on the edge of the stock but I don't know whether to blame Cavalry or the company that makes them for Geissele. I'd like to find a metal one but need to do some more research and looking around.

Has everyone gotten their ADK? I am still waiting on 1. Want to make sure they didn't forget about me.

I was surprised to hear from one of the Geissele reps at the Great American Outdoor Show in PA that the ADK is a lighter shade of tan than DDC. I figured it was darker and more on the OD green/brownish side based on the Black Friday videos. They didn't have any ADK on display so I can't speak to the reality of this. Anyone who received their ADK compare it to DDC side to side.

Got my ADK in last week. It looks great! Kind of a brownish bronze. I'm really happy with fit and finish except there is a little play between the upper and lower receivers. That's standard for milspec but I was hoping it would be completely wobble free like the new Aero stuff or the DD stuff. Regardless, I'm really happy with it so far! Just need to get out and shoot some groups to confirm accuracy and performance. Stay tuned.

Looks darker than DDC to me. Closer to a burnt bronze. Love it. Can't wait for a range report.

Here’s some info from Bill that I thought would be useful to post here. Looks like 77gr black hills is recommended.

Got a few a bunch of different ammo... gonna go do some range testing in a week or so. Going to do 100 yrds to 600 yrds. The Primary Arms GLX 2.5-10 HUD is SUCH a great optic. I highly recommend it for the McRifle.

Yep I’m waiting on an ADK still. No FFL request yet. So assume it’s gonna be a while still. Along with a DD Super Duty, DR stripped reciever set, mk14 DD Handguard, and a DD charging handle... I did get my DD LPK over a month ago.

I don’t have an order number for any of my FFl items as I had to do the order by phone. So I’m blind;).

Finally got some time off to head out to the range and shoot the McRifle Mark 1 for the first time. I put approximately 60 rounds down range, everything from 55 Gr PMC to 75 Gr PPU all cycled flawless with about a 4 O'Clock ejection on everything. Before I get into pictures of the groups I just want to make all the other variables known for this informal accuracy test I did today. Firstly I am not very experienced in this style of shooting, I occasionally shoot some match ammo groups with my SCAR 17 and a 8X scope but I can probably say I've only done that a half a dozen different occasions. It was 25 degrees today with the occasional 5-10 MPH wind gust coming straight off the hill into my face. I did the best I could to shoot in between the gusts and felt confident with all but one shot (which I excluded from group it was apart of). The rifle did not have the most stable rest on the bench and often found myself having trouble keeping the grip settled into the sand bag where I wanted it. All this aside it was a great experience, I have never fired a full length gas / buffer system on an 18" AR and I can say without exaggeration the gun felt like it had about half the recoil of my 12.5" SBR I usually shoot. If there was one thing I can bitch about it's the Surfire 3 prong flash hider. After each shot fired there would be a loud ping / ring for about a second or so and it sort of got annoying. I will likely be replacing this with an OSS flash hider so I can use my 7.62 Elite can in the future. Here are some low quality phone pics, of the rifle. Someday when it isn't as cold and I feel like playing with the resolution I'll take some better pics if you guys care to see any. https://i.imgur.com/Y6mOpw0.jpg https://i.imgur.com/ang766r.jpg The following groups are at 50 yards, please don't judge my Microsoft Paint collages too harshly... https://i.imgur.com/PIAIvNr.jpg Here are the 100 yard groups, I was very pleased with both 69 grain loads here. The omitted shot with PPU ammo I broke the trigger just a little sooner than I wanted it to. In comparison to it's 50 yard group, I feel like the PPU 75 grain load should have been better here. Perhaps is was the ammo, or just the inclement environment but I truly think there is nobody to blame for the poor group but myself. https://i.imgur.com/nUxNcnA.jpg In conclusion I am very pleased with how the rifle performed today and feel like it was worth every penny and then some. I truly feel this rifle is capable of just under MOA groups all day long with quality factory match loads. As Bill himself said with some fine tuning on hand-loads the rifle will likely perform even better. I truly wouldn't be surprised at all to see some of these rifles produce 1/2 MOA groups with a qualified shooter and hand-loads. The next time I go out I will be doing some groups with Hornady Frontier ammo. I picked up 69 and 75 grain loads in both .223 and 5.56, I'm curious to see if there is any appreciable difference in accuracy between these loadings. Perhaps I will also track down some other match loads in the mean time. Let me know what you guys think, I'm excited to see what everyone else is seeing with their rifles both the 16" Super Dutys and the BG MK1. View Quote Here is a group shot by a new Super Duty owner. Not too shabby for CHF chromelined barrel. |

I have a sig tango g2 in 3x18 which I think will be perfect for this rifle. Little overkill but should be nice setup. I’m excited to compare it to my BCM Mk12 mod 0 which I’ve had great luck with out to 500 yards.

Well got the shipping Notice for my DDC SD rifle and signature series in ADK. Also got my Mk14 DD rail this week. Just waiting on my second signature series, DDC CH, and DDC reciever set.... Yay!

Haven't taken mine out for a second shooting yet - the first time was literally just a "very enthusiastic proof testing" involving 200 rounds of 55gr Lake City 5.56.
I did notice that I had a lot of 'wobble' between the upper and lower, which I've since eliminated with an Accu-Wedge, and I also find the K2+ grip a very nice upgrade to the original equipment. Next time out I'm hoping to get it properly zeroed since I still need to get my hands on a shooting rest. |
|
Hoping for #100. I am one of the first to order, and the last to receive.

The wobble thing is a bit annoying as I haven’t dealt with that on anything highend for years. But not a big deal I guess. I have 2 coming in the next week so getting excited. Both shipped today.

I am 87/100 - everything looks great! Although they did send me a black hat....
Thanks Bill - delighted customer here! |

Got mine in!! Sweet rifle but still got to clean it up and look it over
