I ordered a fair amount of Beowulf ammo and several Beowulf and Grendel mags on Jan 4. I know everyone is running way behind and trying to get order status reports are impossible. Is there any way to get any kind of updates? I made sure everything I ordered showed in stock.
I'm just getting frustrated because my orders of several hundred dollars worth from other companies that I made even before my AA order are still sitting in the matrix somewhere with no way for me to check the status. Thanks. |

Sorry, I do the engineering so only look at the forums now and again.
We are cycling through Beowulf magazines and while we are back ordered, they are still arriving and shipping. I am actually quite optimistic about the ammunition. We have drastically increased production this lat few months and apart from the CCI projectiles (300 Gold Dot and 325 Hot Cor) ammunition is also moving. The brass supply has increased by a factor of 2 and we are at the point of adding another machine and four staff for this department. Our problem is that we are behind from the start. We have been undertaking some quite substantial research on the Beowulf ammunition. With new high energy powders we have upped the velocity of the Gold dot to over 2000 fps and the 400 now runs close to 1850fps from a 16" barrel. I cannot answer your question until I get back in the office and SHOT will disrupt that. |

I got an email last week saying they can't check orders and stuff and I don't even remember asking the question lol.
My order was Jan. 4 and still no word, dunno, was hoping it wouldn't take this long but I guess it's gonna be awhile. Might as well settle in for the long haul. |

It's going to be a while.
AA staff continue to work overtime trying to catch up, but its an uphill battle in todays market. Our suppliers continue to deliver, and in light of the market today, we are happy about that, at least! Virtually all parts/ammo/builds are into back order status at this point, and we are digging as fast as we can to catch up! Thanks for your patience! |

Frustrated DOES NOT BEGIN to describe it! I had my local FFL place an order for a Grendel 20 AWS upper with Shilen barrel and AAC 51T flash hider ON SEPTEMBER 25, 2012. Before I did, I called AA and was assured that the lead time on such a custom build was 8 - 12 weeks. I called after Thanksgiving to see if it was on track (because Obama was re-elected in the meantime), and was told to call back in a month or so, because they could not even estimate delivery times for orders received two months earlier! I called again between Christmas and New Year, they couldn't even guess. Now coming onto FIVE MONTHS, I'm about to give up my Grendel plans for good!
I checked with my FFL several times, most recently this afternoon, and he has received no email or any other indication that my order is any closer to delivery than when he put it in. OK, I know everybody is swamped, but there is no way I'm going to believe there is any sort of FIFO system for processing orders there, especially custom builds. Any rational advice is appreciated. I'd just try and relax a bit. The entire industry is bottlenecked right now, and it was not something any manufacturers could predict. Rifle makers are being held up due to various parts suppliers being held up, due to raw materials suppliers being held up...it's not really anyone's fault. I'd say all the panic buyers are more to blame than anyone in the industry.
Demand these last couple months has been insane. Two consecutive months of record breaking firearms sales, ammunition sales, accessories sales. Anything firearm related has been bought up and backordered until who knows how long. It sucks, but you just have to wait. If you can't be patient, try looking around to see if you can find something elsewhere...bet you that you won't find anything available "right now" unless you're paying a hell of a premium. It's going to be a while no matter who you bought from. Lots of folks have lots of things on backorder, best to not get worked up about it. |
