I recently got 7 kits from JT and all the lower parts sets were missing the roll pins (both the triggerguard and bolt release.  Since it's Thanksgiving weekend I don't expect to hear back from Jesse till Monday but I was just wondering if anyone else that has gotten a kit fairly recently was missing their roll pins?

Edited to add that I am also missing 3 of the bolt release plunger springs as well.

Well I had a brand new DPMS lower parts set that I used the roll pins from to go ahead and put the lower together and when I went to install the bolt release I found it is very very tight with the roll pin installed and it will not snap back on its own (not even close).  I took the bolt release from the DPMS set and found exactly what I expected.  The hole on the JT bolt release is as tight as the lower when it comes to the roll pin.  It does not ride freely on it at all.  The DPMS bolt release hole is machined slightly larger so that it just glides on the roll pin instead of having any resistance.  Just to be sure I had an old used roll pin from a LPK that I stripped from a lower once and had the exact same results didn't work with the JT but did with the DPMS.

I went through all 7 of my LPK's and all the bolt releases are the exact same and have the markings MFG 3BMX5 stamped in them.  I bought a JT kit a long time ago and don't recall this marking on the bolt release but it has been a while back so I might not remember for certain.  I don't know if the markings mean anything or not.  It is my understanding that JT uses Colt lower sets (or at least them come from the same manufacturer).  Am I seeing the non-mil spec parts that Colt uses?  I know that Colt used non mil-spec parts sometimes but it was my understanding that these are.  I suspect that isn't my problem though.

I guess I could try to hand drill the hole slightly larger myself but I scare me so I'm going to hold off on the whole assembly until I hear back from Jesse on how to proceed from here.

Had no problems with the roll pins supplied with my kit.  Bolt release works just as it is suposed to. I dont have another rifle to compare hole sizes though

Did your bolt release have any stampings on it?  All mine have "MFG 3BMX5" real big on them.  I know something isn't right with these bolt releases and I know both the other roll pins I tried are mil-spec.

We havent' had any problems with our new bolt catches, but we use coil pins rather than roll pins, and that may be the difference.  Give us a call on Monday and we'll get those parts out for you.

Well, we'll see once I get my roll pins.
