Hey Guys

I'm very new at this so bear with me. I have lots of questions about J&T's Kits.

I would like something accurate. Mostly 200yrd and under, but occationally up to 500yrds. It will most likely have the IOR M2 4x24 or the IOR Super M2 6x32.

First I'm looking at the Bull Barrel Kit 20" Barrel

Bull Barrel Questions

1. The A-2 Stock with adjustible butt plate, how does it adjust? UP, Down, In, Out? Does anyone have a pic of one of these?
2. Is it worth getting a 2 stage trigger, and if so which one, what are the advantages.
3. The bolt Group, What is the difference between, Standard, Crome Carrier assy. and the TiN carrier assy.
4 How is the harris bypod mounted, to the FF tube? Does that effect it in any way?
5. Would you recommend the Standard Flat top or the High rise? What if I also want Iron sights?
6. You thoughs on the intergrated muzzle brake, get it or not?
7. titanium firing pin worth the $$
8. what is a picatinny rail

Now on to the

Complete 16" CAR Kit and M4 Kit Questions

1. are the only differences the Barrels?
2. Whay is the M4 called a Mock Barrel?
3. Can you get the CAR crome lined?

Well I'll probally have more ?s before I finally buy on I'm pretty set on J$T. Thanks to anyone that helps.

One more

I buil my J&T LW Tactical kit on a RRA lower:

It went together perfectly, functions perfectly (so far), and the color match is great!

As for your other questions, help everyone out by defining what you consider to be "accurate".  1/2 MOA at 100yds?  1MOA? 2MOA?  What kind of shooting are you doing -- plinking, match, hunting?

Your questions:

#1 & 4...I don't know so I'll defer.

#2 RRA and Armalite make nice 2 stage triggers...don't know about others.  Some forms of competition require the use of 2 stage.  If it's not required, you can save the $ and make a nice single stage trigger pull...search the AR forum on how to do this.

#3 I'm not sure on advantages of 1 over the other, but I *think* mil spec is not chrome or TiN.

#5  If you get a standard flat top, you can get adapters to go higher if needed.

#6 Mine came with a brake.  It's nice...but not needed.  But IIRC, a brake will preclude the use of a free-float tube...or at least, you'd never be able to remove it.  You'd have to get rid of the brake to remove the sight tower/gas block, to remove the FFT.

#7 For all but high level competition, I doubt it.

#8 Picatanny rail is like a Weaver style attachment rail...lets you put quick detach accesories wherever the rail is.

16" questions:

#1 For civilian guns, the bbl profile is the only difference that I know of.

#2 It's a mock M4 because the the military M4 has something like 11-12" of bbl, and 5" or so of supressor.  The civilian versions can't do that because of the law.

Hope that helped...and hope I got my facts straight.  If not, I'm sure I'll be corrected.

Here are the answers to the rest of the questions.

1.  It adjusts up and down and in and out.  It can be seen in this picture.  www.star15.com/images/Critterslayerjr.jpg
2.  It depends on good a shooter you are, if you can feel the creep in the trigger and know where it is going to break, then you may want to upgrade to a better trigger.  We are currently offering the Jewell 2 stage triggers.
3.  The standard is a plain parkerized bolt carrier assy., which is the military spec.  Chrome carrier assy's is the same carrier but coated in chrome, and the TiN is the same carrier but coated in Titanium Nitrate.  Chrome is harder than the parkerized finish, TiN is harder than the chrome.
4.  The bipod stud is mounted on the FF tube, which does not affect the accuracy.
5.  If you are thinking about using iron sights you want to go with a standard flattop.
6.  If you are going to be doing rapid follow up shots (such as Prairie dog hunting), I would go with the brake, otherwise you probably won't need it.
7.  I personally don't use one.  Some swear by them.
8.  It is the military version of a weaver rail.

CAR
1.  Pre ban's only differ in the cutout on the EM-4 barrel, post ban EM-4 barrel has the cutout and a permanently attached brake.  The EM-4 kit includes the upgrades for the M-4 handguards and buttstock.
2.  A true M-4 Barrel is 14.5" barrel with the cutout for the M-203 and is light weight under the handguards.  Our Mock EM-4 is 16", has the cutout for the M-203, and is HBAR diameter under the handguards.
3.  We do not offer the standard 16" barrels in chrome lined at this time.
