Read that you are working on getting chrome lined barrels around Jan., is this correct, and was wondering if you will have some for the Lexington gunshow, and what would be the price?

If you will have them, I would like to purchase a barrel in a;

16" Preban, 1X9 Twist, prefer Lwt or HB, prefer Lwt.

Thanks,
Danny

Chrome is still a couple of months out, still in the works.  Something better than chrome should be a bit sooner I'm hoping.  We won't have a price until they arrive in the shop.

Definately will not be lightweight as front sight bases are essentially non-existant in the .625" diameter.

What's better than chrome lining?  Hmmm

How about a hint or two?  Better protectant to the bore and chamber or better accuracy?

When you do offer chrome lined barrels will it be bore and chamber?

Thanks and looking forward to what your going to roll out, NS6

Something better would be something that does not affect accuracy and is longer lasting and is more durable.  The work on the process is complete, now just seeing if  its possible to do it the way that we're wanting.

Chrome lined barrels were supposed to have been shipped prior to Christmas, so they should be in at any time, then it will take roughly 1-2 weeks to be ready to ship.

Jesse,
Thanks for the reply, sounds awesome and like exactly what I want for my wife's expedition.  Any idea what it's going to add to the price tag at this point?  Ballparks are good.

Here's to hoping it's possible,

That's one of the best things, it will be around the same cost or cheaper than chrome lining, less than $50 is the current projected cost.

How about a "Tenifer" like finish like Glock uses?

That would be about Purrrr - fect!

I'll let the cat partially out of the bag, If all works as planned it will be very similar to the "Tenifer" coating like Glock has.

Regarding the new finish, will it be applied to the barrel and chamber only or will all metal parts be treated?  Any idea on what the time frame for the new coating is?  (Again, ballparks are good.)

Thanks in advance, RickyRifle.

It will be the entire barrel, that is why it is in the trial stages, to see if it can be done right with the sight tower, barrel nut, and handguard cap installed.  We've got a couple of samples in processing right now, then we'll have a better guestimate on if/when production will be.

No real update yet, we did have a good update though, we can have the sight towers drilled after they have been treated, just have to use a carbide bit.  This is definately a possitive development, but I'll update everyone once we get a definate answer.

Just curious how things are developing.  I want to get a tricked out upper from you, but I also want to wait until either the new finish or chrome-lined are available from you.

Thanks.

I'm currently awaiting the samples back, with any luck they'll be delivered at the SHOT show.

I was curious if there was any update on the coating.  I am wanting to oder a kit but will wait for the the new coating yall are doing.  Just curious if you had any kind of time frame.

Our chrome lined barrels should be in next week barring any further delays, Our new coating sample has not arrived yet, but should be in shortly.

Jesse

PS.  Unless you don't mind waiting months for the new coating to become available you may want to go ahead and order your kit.

The only chrome-lined options I was able to find on your website were the M4 kits.  Do you offer chrome-lined barrels in 20"?

Also, it's been a couple of months since the last update.  What's happening with the new stuff you were waiting on?  Thanks!

Chrome lined 20" barrels should be ready soon.  We got in our sample of the other coating, we're still trying to work out the kinks.  Semi-auto is running pretty good, but full is sputtering and that's upsetting.  Once we get everything lined out we'll get an update out.

Jesse,
Are the 20" Chrome lined in yet, and do you have a price quote to get the chrome lined instead of the moly steel

They haven't shown up yet, I should know something on Friday about the latest ETA on them.  Once they come in they will still be approximately 1-2 weeks out while they get sight towers installed and go to get parked.  The cost is looking to be approximately the same as the M-4's ~ $50 upgrade.

I gotta jump in on this.  Any word on the "tennifer" like coatings?  Gary didn't say anything about it at the last show.  I'm going to be building me a gun with your stuff (since we are selling it) and I want all the whistles and buzzers.  TIA.

That project is currently being held up by the owner of the recipe and the coating company.  Once they get their differences lined out we'll be back in the works.

IMHO, if you could get this going it would probably be one of THE most significant developments in the AR15 community.  That would be my .02.
