Hello, I am looking at your car 16" kit. It has the option to come as a flatop. I was wondering, is there anyway that the front sight can be removed. I would like to mount a scope on the rail but it looks like the front sight would be in the way. Also, this kit includes everything except the lower receiver, right? And will you guys be at the Phx, Az gun show is September. Thankyou for your help. Robert

The only way to get a removable front sight would be to get the picatinny rail gas block. Depending on the scope and the mount you use will determine whether the front sight will be in the way or not. We'll be at the SAR show in Phoenix the first weekend of December, but not until then. |

I just received my J&T Distributing CAR kit. It was shipped quickly, arrived by Fed Ex. I must say how impressed I am. I was expecting just that, a kit, at that price. I was expecting to barrel it, put in every pin and spring. What a surprise! The upper half was assembled, there was a tywrap on the rear lug thru the bolt carrier to keep it in place. The upper was in a plastic bag. The lower parts kit was nicely bagged. The components were not just in a box of peanuts or wadded newspaper, but all set in a fitted styrofoam tray. This is the nicest packaging I have ever received. The parts all look to be top quality. The price... now, that is amazing... the whole kit was less than I would have paid for just an upper from many others. All in all, a great deal. J&T, my compliments! |

As I said in my previous post: "The upper half was assembled, there was a tywrap on the rear lug thru the bolt carrier to keep it in place. The upper was in a plastic bag." The upper was FULLY ASSEMBLED. All I had to do was cut off the ty-wrap holding the bolt carrier into the upper rx, and pin it to the lower. The upper needed lubricating before firing, of course, and it never hurts to clean a new barrel. The lower rx parts were in a plastic bag. I have seen some junky parts in other kits... things such as plastic buffers, plastic trigger guard, hammer and trigger that looked like they were made from old, worn out M16 parts and re-parkerized... but not in this kit. Everything in this J&T kit was new and of top quality. Oh, the best thing! I ordered online Tuesday night, which means they got the order Wednesday morning. It was shipped out Thursday, and I received it the following Monday. You just can't ask for any better than that. I would NOT hesitate to buy from J&T again. |
