Instead of rotation limiting to 45 degree increments and allowing no range of motion, I would truly have appreciated an option where the socket was divided into 90 degree increments, each increment allowing 90 degrees of motion (top, down, left, right), much like the QD backplate.

There are usually two modes of carry with a 2-pt: tucked back, where you want the swivel to point at around 11 o'clock, and in the firing position, where the swivel should be around 7 o'clock. Currently I can only choose one or the other, and this is not exactly what I had in mind when I purchased this.

The flexible webbing of the sling does turns in the sling swivel to accommodate the two carrying positions, 1100 - 0700, you mention.

The type of rotation limited feature inside our QD Keymod Mount is used across all of our sling swivels, and also those of Noveske, Knights, Daniel Defense & others in the industry, because the amount of movement in the sling webbing is enough to accommodate carrying or firing the weapon. Colt offers their side sling swivel, mounted 90 degrees to the barrel on their LE6920 Series of rifles for this same reason. IWC's QD RL KeyMod Sling Mounts are the standard issue for all Bravo Company KMR Uppers being shipped and used by their cadre of Gunfighters.

The pic below is of my personal rifle, showing how the sling is twisting in the QD Sling Swivel Loop, which I run at 90 degrees as shown. You could rotate it 45 degrees to accommodate the 7 & 11 position if you wanted to.

I understand this is an issue for you. Please feel free to contact us @ 970.980.8378 for an RMA number if you would like to return the mount for full credit upon receipt and inspection. All of our products are 100% guaranteed for life.

No, I'm keeping your product, but thanks for the offer. There's nothing wrong with it, just my personal preference. I just assumed that it would be the same as the backplate I purchased from another manufacturer (apparently not industry standard, but to my taste). Like you said, since everything seems so standardized, I'm not quite sure anyone makes what I'm looking for in the Keymod form factor.

Still, it would be ideal to have sockets with various ranges of motion.
