| Does anybody know of any good direct mounting options for the VTAC/Alpha Rail? I finally broke down and got one, and now that I have it, I don't want to add the weight of the extra rail, or ruin the lines of the rail if I don't have to. I'm specifically looking for a light mount for 1" light and a sling mount (non-QD preferably to use with my MS3 sling, but if I have to update, I'll have to update). |
| You could use a smaller TLR-1HL mounted on the existing top rail (ahead of the front sight). Those things are plenty bright and are lighter weight. Then you could put a Magpul RSA sling attachment on the top rail as well. So at least you aren't adding any rails and using the one already there. |
| Thanks for the options. I'm sold on the RSA for my forward sling. I took my TLR-1s off my handgun and tried that. Man, that puts the light switch in the PERFECT location for momentary on/off. Looks a little "clunky" on that small rail, and it partially obstructs my view, kinda like a lower 1/3 co-witness. Definitely an option. I want to see if there's a smaller version out there. |
