Just recently got to handle this new platform and rail and was impressed by the whole system, this version was presented in Canada at a distributor/dealer show with the understanding that this was not the finalized version, the new version eliminates the rear rail on the 5.56 platforms, but will be retained on the new Troy 308 carbine & rail...

Nice to see Troy picking up the Keymod platform, I think Troy was the last piece of the puzzle to go along with many other companies to solidify keymod as the new standard.

Looks cool. I guess I'll have to see both options in person but so far, the new BCM Keymod has me more interested since it's made out of a magnesium alloy and weighs only 7.7 ounces for 13".

What is it with companies making keymod rails with short picatinny sections at the front?! The point of keymod is that you don't need rails. If I wanted another tube with short rail sections, I'd just get another Alpha rail.

Now... An Alpha rail with keymod slots all the way to the end at 3, 6 and 9 o'clock, with QD sockets on both sides (at both ends) would be perfect. Just saying.
