It's the upper.
I just tried a centurion arms 12" and it's crooked too. Emailing BCM. My new 13" VTAC Alpha rail is misaligned 3/16" to the left (looking down the barrel)?! I do a lot of gunsmithing, tried to install it four or five different times--then took it to the local gunstore where the best AR people in NE FL work, and they tried as well. We're ordering another set to try. I googled it, and there were tons of people saying try 4 or 5 different barrel nuts, but (a) this is on a pinned brake gun, and (b) this is brand new BCM upper and the barrel nut seems to be perfectly milspec--installed, aligned and torqued correctly. My rail could be held straight, but as soon as I started to tighten ANY side screws, it began to pull it to the side. I'm really not into the standard style, so hopefully the next one will work. Any thoughts or suggestions would be welcome...found lots of instances of this online, but didn't see many fixes. Thanks. |
