Howdy, I'm having some trouble installing an OEM M4 sling mount on my lower.  The socket-receivers are making contact with the lower receiver, preventing the buffer tube from being turned far enough to capture the buffer retention pin.  The lower is a Stag Arms, with a milspec buffer tube, nothing unusual.  I purchased the sling mount from a reputable dealer/site sponsor, so I think it's highly unlikely that this is a fake product.

Does anyone have an idea if there is a way to fix this problem?  I'm guessing either take a file to the inboard sections of the socket-receivers or just find a different sling mount?

I like the design of this mount and would like to make it work if possible.  Thanks in advance for any help!

In all reality I think it's just bad product Fitment. I've used these OEM sling mounts before and the only time I didn't have this issue was when I was using a billet Spikes or Seekins lower. Any other time I tried using them on a forged lower there was alway issues like you are having. Each time I had to file down the mount and Cerakote it. To me it's crazy because my guess is over 90 percent of the people in the AR community run forged lowers not billet.

Thanks for the reply.

That's kind of what I figured.  I ended up filing mine down and hit it with a bit of krylon.

It was a bitch getting the takedown pin retaining spring in there too.
