Do they have alpha rails for the 308?  I'm tired of waiting on the mrf 308 rail.

16" ST CHF barrel, goes on a stock barrel nut, comes with three rails, one of them has a QD slot

Well then how about on an actual, completed lower receiver? That would get him.

So in looking at Troy's web site it seems that the shorter lengths 7.6" and 9(?) are available in the Alpha but not in Alpha with flip up front sites?  Does anyone have the intel on this?

Can somebody post pics of the mounting/attachment area ?  Exactly how does it interface with the stock barrel nut ?

Would love to see weights of the rails. Specifically the 11" model vs standard midlength handguards.

11 ounces for the 13"

Since it uses the standard barrel nut, could this be installed on a 14.5 with a perm welded FH?

Seems like all one would have to do is cut off delta ring, handguard cap, shave the FSB, slide on new rail over perm FH, and tighten it down.

As long as you have either a lo-pro gas block or can shave the fsb then you should have no problem. When I did it I just cut a slots opposite of each other and pulled the delta ring apart then used some pliers to pull off the spring and retainer.

Anybody stocking the 13" alpha rail without the built in front sight?

I've got an 11" with sight on the way at the moment.

I noticed on AIM Surplus's site, they say the 11" Alpha (the one I've got coming) doesn't work with a midlength gas block. Is this for all midlength gas blocks? Are there extra-low profile ones that will work, or a shaved FSB?

The reason why the 11" Alpha rails w/ integrated sights do not work with the mid length gasblock is becuase the sight, when folded down, will have interference with the gas block. Unless someone has the measurements of how much height a gas block adds to the barrel or how much space the integrated sight takes up when folded, I do not think there can be a definite answer to your question.

I'm asking in the hopes that:

A) someone has already dealt with this issue in their own build

B)Troy knows what their handguard is compatible with...

I really don't want to out of the loop as my new upper is starting to come together... might have to end up going with a different rail, despite my intentions.

someone tried the 11" on their mid-length, it didn't  work.

Well that really freakin' sucks. I bought it from AIM Surplus before they updated their site with that info, so I ordered it without knowing...

Is a 16" carbine really so bad? If it is, I'm going to have to return this in favor of the Rainier Arms Evolution rail...

Carbine length gas systems will work with all of the Alpha BattleRails available with and without sights. Unfortunately the 11" Alpha Rail with the built in sight is not compatible with a mid length and intermediate length gas system and the 13" Alpha Rail with the built in sight is not compatible with the rifle length gas system. We do however offer both lengths without a built in sight that will work. The 11" and 13" versions will not be compatible no matter the type of gas block being used. Thank you.

can anybody share pictures or a diagram on how exactly this interfaces with the factory barrel nut?   please....

Are there any thoughts to offering the carbine 7.2" with the sights? They would be popular with the guys running a pistol lenght gas system...like the 300 AAC Blackout barrels.
