So i'll admit, i should think before i purchase.  BUT i do like to modify and tinker so it wont be that big of a deal.

has anyone else mated the MEGA "thick" receiver/side charge receiver to the Troy Extreme rails ?

I have taken the measurements and marked the upper for modification.  I just didnt know if anyone else has tried this and might have some advise!

IMO they were meant for each other.  Pics aren't great but......




ETA What are you modifying on the upper?  Mine went together perfectly fine.

the nub on the HG doesnt lookg like its going to fit the upper.  i havent done a full dry fit... but its good to know its been done.  i'll have to check on it tonight.  maybe i'll have to put the barrel in.

People say thier phase 5 bolt release works with the mega upper... Mine doesn't. Maybe I need to call mega!

the top rails are even, but no matter how i attempt to mount it... there is no way its going to fit.  see pic #1!  the white mark is where the HG rubs the receiver.

I see the issue now but I don't recall seeing those lugs before.  Just carefully grind them off and touch up the paint instead of modifying the upper as you stated in the other post.

i'd rather mod the upper to keep the "zero lock" on the HG.  i just have to measure correctly and it will be fine.

I think I would have a machine shop do that work. I have done some dremil work before. However to make a notch for that in my upper I would have it done with pro quality tools and experienced/sklled labor, unless I had the tools and skills.

i have some tools and some skillz ;) but i think i'm going to have a shop do it.  the more i think about it.  plus i had someother things i wanted done to the upper that would need his skills.  :)
