Does this come with a barrel nut for the DPMS style rifle? It doesn't say on the website. I ordered one today, and need to know if I have to order a barrel nut for my build.

Nolo, I know we have been talking about this in the MA-TEN FAQ thread but I thought I would repeat it here for all any one else looking.
I have an answer on the Troy MRF Rails. Unfortunately the Troy MRF-308 will not work with MA-TEN. Taken from Emails between me and Troy
Me: Would you happen to know if the MRF-308 will work on a Mega MA-10? Would the to rail on the MRF and the top rail on the upper receiver line up? Troy: The MRF .308 will not work with the Mega MA-10 unless the upper receiver has DPMS style threading and can accept the barrel nut that we provide. The upper receiver will also have to be the same height and have the same timing as the DPMS upper receiver. Chances are they do not have either. This handguard will not fit on the barrel nut that comes standard on the rifle. Thank you. Me: Thanks for getting back to me so fast. The MA-TEN does have DPMS threading. I copied and pasted this from the Mega site: "Any handguard with a barrel nut designed to fit the Knight SR25 or DPMS will fit the MA-TEN upper. The MA-TEN shares a common rail height with the SR25 and the Armalite AR10." I just want to be sure that even the DPMS version of th Troy MRF shares the rail height with SR-25 and AR-10. Troy: Unfortunately the new version of the handguard wont share the same height between the two manufacturers. Both DPMS and Armalite just recently changed their upper receiver height and we have changed the height of our handguard to match each company. Thank you. |

We are just finishing up a small overhaul with the MRF line. There are two models of the MRF for the 308 coming. There will be a Armalite height rail and a DPMS/Remington height. I have a friend at Mega and I sent him an MRF to check compatibility.
The rails ship with a DPMS replacement barrel nut. |
