I was halfway through building a custom configuration when the site stopped responding. Anyone else having problems?

Oh nice. Now its locked down again with the "try at midnight tomorrow" message. I called 3 times today and was forwarded to a voicemail and no call backs and now this crap.

Same here. Was almost done when it went down. As many times as it kept messing up, i cant imagine anyone got anything ordered. I am still very annoyed.

There was one morning it didn't come up till 3 am.  Keep in mind its new years and people might not be working tonight or tomorrow.

I talked to someone there today and they said its been "off" because of the holidays and it will be up tonight. I don't think there needs to be anyone "working" for their web application to function. He told me custom builds are taking 2 weeks and pre-orders on their builds are taking 2 months. I was going to preorder and he then forwarded me to a sales person that didn't answer their phone. I left my number and waited 3 hours and then called back. Then did the same thing, forward to salesperson that didn't answer, left number, waited 3 hours and called again. So I tried this route tonight. Complete waste of time. This panic sht is getting really annoying. I've been planning this for months.

Hey guys. Regarding the website, I experienced the same thing last night/this morning. It took me about 45 minutes before I could finally completely order my upper. You have to be patient and persistent. What I did was I just had 3 browsers up and kept refreshing. Each time the website went back up, I would get a little further and further in the ordering process and just kept refreshing on that particular step (between step 4 and step 5 is where it hung up the most). It was frustrating, but just have to keep plugging on.

I did pretty much the same thing. It took about 40 minutes of refreshing to get from step 5 to payment but I was able to get the custom rifle ordered.

I wish you guys luck tonight.  I hope it comes up for you.

As soon as I see some progress on my order I will let you know.  I will tell you what has happened up until this point.

I ordered my firearm from dd on 12/27.  It crashed on me several times while I was doing it and at times the website totally went down with errors that said "To many open connections" which means their MySQL database was overloaded.
I didn't get a confirmation email right away, or at least I thought.  It ended up being in my spam folder.  I would suggest checking that after the order.  They did say it was taking up to 3 days to send out confirmation emails now.
I also check my credit card online and found that a temporary authorization for the amount was on there.  What that means is the money is set aside for Daniel Defense but they need to come back and get it.
A couple days later, DD came back and captured the funds from my credit card.
During the last four days my order has had a status of "processing" and that is where it is currently.

I did speak with a Customer Support person who said that he couldn't see my order but if I got a confirmation email, everything is fine and I could expect my firearm to ship in 1-2 weeks.

Once I get the firearm I will post everything that happened on this forum.

Also, it will ask when you pay for it what FFL do you want to use.  It is a single text field and is confusing.  From what I understand is they want the name and address of the FFL you want it delivered too.  It is not required and if left blank, they will find and FFL near your billing address to deliver it too.

They need a better method. Like issue a certain number of session tickets and then lock out. Instead of leaving it wide open for all for an hour and those that don't finish are SOL.

Agreed. I guess they have no incentive to rethink the method, they're selling EBRs left and right...

Down again. That's quite frustrating. I called to place an order on Monday and was told just before a transfer that "if no one answers call right back". I get transferred and no one answers so I call back and get the automated message that they are closed. Figured I'd use the custom feature that night and got to step 6 before the site went down. When it came back it was disabled. Tried the same tonight with the same results. Never had to work so hard to spend thousands of dollars.

I can't even log in.  Password not working for whatever reason, and when I click the lost password function, no email.  Not in junk or anything,  or should I expect that to be on the 72 hour respond as well?

I have a friend that is an Area Sales Manager for a large national sporting goods chain, he said that they are sold out of most all ammo and swamped beyond imagination. Distribution and Remington, winchester and other suppliers that they order direct from are empty too. The manufactorers are working 24/7 to fill the need. the chain store has sold all their rifles and folks are now gobbling up all the handguns.

Short story is DD is probably doing a better job on trying to meet the need than their competitors and a measure of patience on our (consumer) end is in order.  Calling to fuss about website issues just makes the problem worse. All the suppliers know there are supply shortages, web site problems  and are doing what they can.

Don't worry.  They called me today asking for the information.  I haven't spoke to them yet as they had left for the day by the time I go to call them back.  The good news is my status is now "pending" from 5 days of "processing".

I got in last night and got the processing confirmation email.  Had to use 3 screens and start builds with each because of time out issues but was able to get one all the way through the process.  Looked like it was only up from midnight and all orders filled in 19 min and then taken down.  Would keep trying every night at midnight sharp if I were you.

So I tried again last night and still no success, so I gave up on that route. I spent most of the day today trying to call them. Finally spoke to a sales person and placed a pr-order on a V4. I'll swap out the trigger group later. Other than that its exactly what I was trying to build. They gave me a ship date of Feb 18th. They have one more V4 available for that ship date. That was a few hours ago though.

I had an all nighter last week while out of work for the holidays, and notice the website wasnt up at midnight. It was up between 3am~6am EST. Just throwing it out there. I happened to be able to randomly place my order at 7:45pm on 12/29. I was waiting till midnight and check throughout the day and boom it let me at 7:45pm for some reason so I took advantage and it was up. By the time I was done it was closed but I did receive my confirmation email within 24hrs and have my CC company call me to verify the purchase. When I notice it was up the next night between 3am-6am it was continuously up. I was mildly rushed/pressed for time when ordering in fear I wouldnt be able to complete it so when I noticed it was up for a long time the next evening I rebuilt my gun and verified I was happy with all my option and then downloaded the wallpapers it gives you of the gun you built!

They have been taking orders every night since moving to the high demand screen. I called when it was not coming up at midnight for a few days and they said that they were having problems getting the site to reset at exactly midnight. So like the poster above's story the site was coming up at 2AM or some other random time rather than midnight. They said they would fix it and it seems that they have. My family and I have gotten 3 since New Years Day (after much trial and error). As posters above mentioned, I was also worried about the one line "FFL Dealer" slot. Hurriedly I just put the name of the store and later realized there is another store (in another state) with the same name. I called to ensure that they got the right one and they said that they will figure that out and if they had any question whatsoever they would call to figure out what my preference is. I am still on processing order for my January 3rd rifle, but am not sure about my father's.

I've given up at the build you own, I decided to just order a v5 but the recording said they are not taking any new orders then hung up on me. I guess I'll keep trying and hope for the best.

I finally succeeded last Friday after trying all week - this is what worked for me.  I created an account ahead of time so I wouldn't have to get my shipping information typed in, and made sure I was already logged in before midnight EST.  Other than that I just stayed glued to my computer waiting for it to post each page.  And when I did get a page that failed to load I didn't refresh it, I had already copied the url of the previous page (without getting into technical details it's slightly faster than refreshing because of the way their web server is set up).  I didn't need to use 3 browsers or anything like that.

This is the first night in nearly a week now that I was never even able to load the first page of their custom build site...I continued to get their 'high demand' default logo when their custom site is offline.

Unless anyone else actually got thru to their custom site, I'm currently feeling that the custom site never even went live tonight. It has always been pretty quick to get me to the first part of their custom site, and then some when I logged in right before midnight.

Tonight felt to me like the site didn't go live at all.

Was anyone able to get in at all?

As I've mentioned before. I've never found it live at midnight. More so at random hours like 3am. It sucks I know but atleast worth a try...like 3am or 4am

I can tell you guys this.  My status is at "PENDING" and I got my FEDEX shipping information.  It was about 7 days after it went pending and they requested my FFL's information.

With the potential BAN coming this seems like an ENTIRELY STUPID IDEA!

I would think cancelling the SHOT SHOW would be a better option, now if they said they feared for their lives and weren't sure Noveske was an 'accident' that I could understand!
