Is this normal?

Hopefully its obvious that there is a massive flame coming out of the ejection port.  This happened a few times during various videos we recorded.

There is an exhaust port on the side of the bolt carrier, which vents the gas from the gas system inside the BC once the BC moves to the rear unlocking the bolt.  It's not unusual to see something coming out the port, that screen capture looks like an extreme example though.

It is visible in the right lighting on most rifles, but I once had a rifle (high round count) that showed a bit of extra flash from the ejection port.

A check of the headspace and it failed "go" &"no go", almost closing on "field". A bolt swap brought it back in spec and no more fireball.

If this is a new rifle and everything in in spec, it is probably just a matter of seeing the excess gas being vented out of the action.
