You are correct. Daniel Defense does not currently sell lower receivers. And from what I hear they don't plan on it, which is total FAIL in my opinion.... For all of us that bought the SmartGunner speacial that didn't get a chance to purchase one then are now screwed and DD don't give a crap... |
|
Yea I wished I had bought a couple at the time..
WHo Knew.. Oh wait it's election year... It would be a nice addition to my 300blackout.. I just wish DD would make something SHORTER than the standard 16" I assume they will after awhile.. 9 in barrel, 8" handguard, DD lower, FOLDING DD SIGHTS.. I am in the market for a SBR.. JOE?? |

I'm really kicking myself for not buying a DD lower when they still had them listed up on the dealer login page for $1xx.00 and some odd dollars. I kept putting it off and putting it off and then one day they just stopped selling them. I wanted one to complete my DD Block II build. :(
DD, do you guys ever have any blems you might sell as stripped lowers? My DD upper just doesn't look right with a Smith and Wesson lower! |

For all of us that bought the SmartGunner speacial that didn't get a chance to purchase one then are now screwed and DD don't give a crap... Exactly how do they not give a crap? It's fairly common. If they cannot keep up with their production why would they ever sell a lower that they could make a rifle on? If they sold you a stripped one then there would be a guy out on the internet complaining about how DD didn't give a crap about him by not building enough rifles. Those that really want one and are willing to put the time and effort into locating one will always find one. They're not that hard to find. |

Yeah well, I surely don't believe it's about not being able to keep up with rifle production. I know they really can't keep up with rifle production BUT you notice they really have no shortage on barrels, BCG's, LPK's, rails, mounts etc.
They don't sell lowers because they WANT you to buy a full factory built gun. If it was a matter of not having enough, they could up production to fill supply and demand if need be. |

Guys, we don't sell lowers any more. We did for a time and it was great. We were able to do this for a while becuase we had surplus lower receivers available. That all changed around toward the end of 2010. Around this time, the market shifted and demand for our complete rifles trumped our production capacity for lower receiver. We stopped offering stripped/complete lower receivers on Dec 20, 2010 so that we could keep up with rifle demand. There are a lot of folks under this roof that would like to see us offer lowers again in the future, but we honestly don't know if we ever will.

Joe it would be nice if You could convince Marty to start offering the Stripped Lowers Again. As some of Us who Love Your Products simply can not afford a Complete DD Rifle. I work for the School Board and have a Good Job but in this Economy it is not enough to afford Luxuries like a Complete Rifle!
I personally built 3 DD Rifles using 100% DD parts except the Furniture, 1 was a DDXV 1 a DDM4 V1 and a DDM4 V4. And I love the quality of Your Parts and all 3 Rifles run perfect! it took Me a Year of buying DD parts to get all 3 Built as that is the only way I could afford to do it. Now I find Myself wanting a V7 for Shooting 3 Gun which I just got started in and shot My DDM4 V4 in My first Match and it Ran Perfect! Looking at what some of the other Guys were using I think the V7 with the 12" MFR would be the way to go, I just can not decide if I want a lightweight Barrel or Standard Weight? I know I want it to be a Mid length for sure. I guess I will have to build a Upper and Run it on one of My DD Lower's I already have, My wish along with many others as that one Day DD will offer the Stripped Lowers again. Thank You for making quality stuff that is in such High Demand, Hank |
