Since smartgunner no longer offers the "build your own"   Where can I order a 14.5" pinned hider lightweight upper?

Daniel Defense will Customize your order however you want it and doesn't charge extra for special orders. However you will be charged $75 fee for the pinning of the flash hider.

$75 is ridiculous for pinning.  Maybe I should just go elsewhere.  DD is really pissing on customers lately.

$75 is costly, but they have some of the nicest pinned hiders I have seen.  You will be hard pressed to see where the hider has been pinned.  If memory serves me correct their master machinist spends about an hour on every pin job.  It may cost more than the other guys but the finished quality is way above what I have seen from ADCO, BCM and Spike's.  Some people might not care for a perfect looking pin job and are concerned only with the function that it serves.  However, if you want a flawless looking pin job I would recommend DD.

You do have a point there, my current DD 14.5" pinned is the nicest I've seen.

All the ones I have seen done by DD are "2 footers", from 2 feet away you can't really tell it has been pinned.

OR, you can pay less and have you new upper arrive out of the box like this one that was posted a few days ago from another well known AR "Manufacturer".

In an effort to supply a wider range services to our customers, we have decided to offer permanently attaching muzzle devise as a standard service.  $75 may seem expensive but please keep in mind that we do not have a dedicated machine or operator for the pinning of flash hiders.  Anytime we have to pin flash hiders to barrels, we have to hault regular production and refixture a machine.  This takes a considerable amount of time and takes away from our standard production schedule.  In addition, this is a very tedious and time consuming process.  In order to make sure that its done right the first time, everytime, our machine operators spend a considerable amount of time to ensure  that each flash hider is properly timed on the barrel, and that once  it has been permanently attached, there will be hardly any evidene of machine work.  The quality of our work is second to none in the industry.

This is simply a service that we felt was necessary to offer to everyone now that we offer a variety of 14.5" CHF Barrels.  If you feel that $75 is too much to have one of the best looking perm attach jobs in the market, then by all means, feel free to have it done elsewhere.  You certainly are not obligated to have us do it for you unless you want a complete rifle with a 14.5" with permanently attached flash hider.

We will perm attach any flash hider you would like. We do not stock any flash hiders other than the standard A2 that we install on our weapons. Therefore, it would be up to you to provide us with the flash hider of your choice to have installed.

Josh I would like to take you up on that offer.  I have a Battlecomp 1.5 that I would like perm-attached to my custom DD upper that was sold by Smartgunner.com.  The upper has yet to built or shipped yet, so I assume its okay for me to send you my BC and pay the additional fee to have it perm attached.

How do I proceed?  Do I contact you directly?  And what address do I need to send my BC to?

Thanks?

That is absolutely ok. If you send the FH we will attach it. If your order has changed you need to contact Smart Gunner and make him aware of the order change. When you send the FH back call Bill @ 912-851-3258 and set up a return authorization to ensure it doesn't get lost.
