There are several million FAL mags on the open market, and I've never seen one go for more than $10 at a gun show. That's what the LAR-8 is based on using...FAL (metric) or LiA1 (inch) pattern. Problematically, they've been made for so long, on so many stamping dies and in so many countries, that many of those mags will only fit/work in just some of the FALs. let alone all LAR-8s. We bought them in huge quantities and had drop-out rates of anywhere from 5-60+% on any given batch. The low end was tolerable. The top end was not. That's when we went to the poly mag, which we have greater control over and which has largely done away with the mag issues we were experiencing with the steel mags.
We did pursue the Moses mags as an alternative. When they were available and functional (we received some that weren't) they were great. But we haven't been able to get another batch in,and as such have taken them out of the catalog and off of our web site (again).
If two of your RRA poly mags don't work, have you contacted us for repair or replacement?
Thanks.
