Hello Gentlemen. I am considering a RRA LAR-8.

That said I have a some questions before spending my hard earned money.

#1. Will your TRO free float rails fit on the LAR-8 Mid length carbine? If not do you have plans to make these for your .308 Winchester rifles?

#2. Are there any free float rails of this type made by other manufacturers out there designed for this rifle? I already know about the DD ARR3003. I am not interested in quad rails they are too heavy, and .308 rifles already need fat camp.

#3. Will any of the following Magpul stocks fit on this rifle without modification and without interfering with the charging handle? CTR, Moe, STR, ACS, Moe Rifle.

#4. Will magpul MOE mid length, or rifle length hand guards fit this rifle?

#5. What is the expected barrel life of this rifle?

#6. Will any of these modifications void the warranty?

I apologize if I am being overly direct and for asking questions you must get a lot of, but I would feel a lot more comfortable having these questions answered by someone from RRA before settling on a rifle.
Thank you in advance for your help. From what I have seen of your rifles you make a fine product.

Let's see what we can do:
1.  We'll have LAR-8 specific TRO handhards for 2014.
2.  JP has a modular tube that works on the LAR-8 and accepts rails in different locartions along it.
3.  All of them should be fine.  The only problem with the PRS is with the cheek piece if it is elevated even a fraction of an inch above the top plane of the stock.
4.  Mid MOE on a Mid A4 and rifle-length MOE on a Std A4.  I haven't done it, but there are photos within this forum of LAR-8s configured with the MOE HGs.
5.  Barrel life depends greatly on how you treat and maintain your barrel.  I can cook a barrel in an afternoon if you give me enough loaded mags to get th ebarrel hot and keep it hot all afternoon, but that really isn't how most people shoot.  Shot at a resonable rate of fire, maintained properly, and not absued, 8-12000 rounds isn't out of th equestion.
6.  The factory wartranty covers failure of factory parts and labor...nothing done by th eend user or a surrogate.  If you install astock and a handguard, and six months down th eroad have a atrigger issue, that's still warranty-covered.  If you install a stock and handguard and now have cycling issues, that may b eon you, dependingon what we attribute the issues to.

Thank you very much.

Will it be possible to order a LAR-8 with the TRO already installed so I don't void my warranty? Or to send it to RRA or, an Approved RRA gunsmith to have the rail installed?

So all of the stocks will fit on the factory buffer tube? And if I am not changing the buffer only the stock will this void the warranty? I'm just asking because I'm not entirely clear on your meaning and it does not seem like the stock could affect functionality of the internal parts, but then again I am no expert on these things so I want to be sure I know what's what before I make any decisions.

Than you again.

For next year, the LAR-8 TROs will be available as factory-installed options.
There's very little about the actual stock itself that can fail, unless you try themortar bomb jam clearance drill or something along those lines..As long as th eactual operating system isn't molested, the warranty should stay in force on it.
Thanks.
