Just received my eo2, that was ordered on feb 12. Gun feels awesome. Headed to range Sunday and will follow with report. One question, do they always come with (very clearly used) cheap metal magazines? Not to sound like an ass, as I know a lot of patiently waiting folks wouldn't care what mag it came with. Just seems odd $1000 rifle $5 mag

A GI aluminium mag with an anti tilt follower?

You will be better off using that mag.

I own several mags, all of them do what they are supposed to do.  I just think it's odd that they supply what are obviously used mags with a new rifle.

Every RRA I have EVER recieved new has had a brand new aluminium magazine with it.
(except the 6.8's which where steel)

Where did you get the firearm from?

Not saying your local shop swapped the magazine but I bet they swapped your magazine.

My Tactical Operator2 came with two gray GI mags (as pictured on the RRA web site) that were also somewhat used/scratched. I know where you’re coming from that they don't look great with a new gun. Every time they are put into the gun they get more scratched and used looking. I just figured they were used to test fire the gun at the factory. Then if they are the ones sent that were tested with the gun, that would pretty much insure they also worked.

BTW, what I thought was bad with them, they were not wrapped. Think about it, if things shifted while in transit, or if the case was opened for inspection, they would stand less of a chance scratching the gun if they were wrapped.

Talk about the case being opened, my case was opened somewhere along the line and closed down on the muzzle brake doing damage to the case. I guess some 400lb BEAST couldn't get it closed, so said BEAST set on the case like an overstuffed suit case in an old Three Stooge Movie.

They are new mags...some wear occurs before they ever get to us (cased in qty 100, with multiple layers of unenclosed mags laying between layers of vapor barrier paper.
Most are then shot with the mag that they are shipping with.
And if there's somewhere you can get new GI aluminum mags with anti-tilt followers for five bucks each, I'll take about 80,000 for starters.
