I just purchased my first AR, took advantage of tactical rifle super sale. I ordered the tactical operator 2. I know because of NYS the stock has to be pinned but why did it come with a tactical car stock instead of the operator car stock thats listed on the sale. The operator stock was one of the reasons I ordered that particular rifle.?

We can't pin the Operator stock...so it's either a pinned non-collapsible version of of our Tactical CAR Stock, or an Operator A2, generally depending on how it's ordered.

I was not aware of that, the dealer I bought it from did not give me an option. I found an RRA stocking dealer (Keith @ Top Notch Firearm Sales) that will pin any stock to be NY compliant. I was wondering by chance if I could do an exchange for the operator car stock and have Keith pin it to make it NY legal? The operator A2 stock is nice but I would like to get the operator car stock and have it pinned in a shorter position that more suites my shooting style. Thanks Scott

Our pinned stocks just aren't a normal pinned CAR stock.  You have a full-length CAR-style receiver extension and a rifle length buffer and spring.  Teh stock part is really just for show by the time its pinned to the tube.
