My new LAR-8 was experiencing failure to feed issues. I was using my hand loads and South African ammo. Hand loads were .040 short of max C.O.A.L for .308 . Contacted RR by E -mail and BJ Blick responded quickly and set it up for UPS to come by the house to pick it up. Got it back in a little over two weeks. They replaced the upper receiver and polished the chamber / feed ramps. Took it to the range last Sunday, fired 50 rounds with no problems at all. Had no problem with it feeding hand loads or South African ammo.
I'd like to say "Thanks" to Rock River for great customer service. MC |

If you ever get a chance, would you mind looking at your bolt to see if it has MPI HPT written anywhere on it? It may be faster to get this answer from you rather than from RRA itself. It doesn't have it on it. If it was stamped on it, I would have told you that the bolts were magnetically partical inspected and high-pressure tested with certainty. Since I don't want to give you incorrect information, I'm waiting (yes, and waiting, and waiting) for our vendor(s) to provide the protocols, procedures, and criteria that they are using to meet our requirements inregards to the testing of bolts and carriers. Once I have the information, as I have indicated in your multiple other posts, I will gladly post it. Thanks. Steve/RRA |

just a question for all the people worrying about bolt testing. do you really think rock river or any other mainstream manufacture could stay in buisness if they used inferior parts ? Not at all. I am one of "those" people that think that subjecting a part to HPT then inspecting the outside for cracks (MPI) COULD actually cause a failure do to stress that can't be seen without Gama-ray inspection. I am however curious as to what the testing is though. |
