Steve,

I currently own a Rock River Arms LAR-8 carbine with mid length upper.   The gun runs like a champ.  I found a RRA LAR-8 Varmint upper with 26" barrel for sale and I am considering buying it.   I imagine the carbine and A2  buffers and springs are different.  Will the 26" Varmint upper work with a mid length lower with collapsable stock or will I need a lower with the A2 stock and receiver extension ?

Thanks !

To tell you the truth, I haven't personally tried that combination and will have to see if anyone has tried it....

I had a 26" varmint and a couple of mid lengths, swapped the coll. stock lower onto the
varmint upper with zero issues. I sold the mid lengths, cut the 26" down to 20" and bought
a coll. kit from RRA and it works great.
