I don't know if it's normal, but it doesn't matter.

The lowers are identical between 5.56 & 6.8...some manufacturers mark the "MULTI" (as in caliber).

Did you buy it from someone, that why your asking?  As stated above, there is no difference.  RRA 6.8SPC is 1/10 twist but has the SpecII chamber and is a great shooter.  Mine shoots 1" groups at 200 yards using the SSA 90 Speer TNT and also really likes the Pro Hunters.  RRA's complete 6.8 comes stamped LAR 6 on the lower, but again there is not difference.  How much did the rifle cost you?

By the way, interesting first post, thanks for joining in after 2 years of silence

Purchased it at a Gun Show after trading off a SVT 40.  I just noticed the new RRA had 6.8 stamped on the lowers.  Wasn't sure if someone had put together the wrong pieces.

It means that the upper left the factory as a complete 6.8 upper half, and the lower as GOK.
If you want to e-mail me (not IM) with a serial number I can tel you how that specific lower lef the factory.
