order again from RRA, knowing what you know now?
The 30 day delivery schedule turned into 6 months for me, and I am still waiting on some rifles to be shipped. The communication from CS is poor at best, and the overall CS of delivery would not be satisfactory in any retail market I am aware of. I wouldn't tolerate this from Home Depot, or Sears, or any vendor that I can think of. Why do we tolerate stand in line for it from RRA? |
| So far I probably would, understanding that this is not a large industry that's able to respond to such spikes in demand. Given the situation I wouldn't expect any company to make drastic additions to facilities and workforce only to have them go unneeded when demand falls. They certainly could do better in comunicating the status of backorders and approximating waiting times but I guess that's a tricky situation as well, stating wait times that could get into the year mark could scare customers off also. Saying that they were so swamped that they had no idea when to expect anything was probably no better but it does avoid estimating times that they may miss the mark on. I got estimated roughly six months and the actual time turned out pretty close to ten months,no perfect way to handle it I guess. But they should have come out with accurate info allong the lines of what orders are being filled currently were placed x amount of month's,weeks ago. Gun and accessory customers are still a dime a dozen but I bet it won't be that way forever and we'll see a change in attitude when there are not as many of us. |

Yes, if they have something I require.
The rush after the Messiah was elected wasn't their fault, and they coped as best they could. As for CS, my middy lightweight chrome-lined upper eventually shipped after a few months. That's all I wanted, even if I was irritated that I never got a ship notice for that upper. Also, I should note that I didn't see any drastic price increases from them either. Dealers may have bumped up pricing, but RRA didn't. You just had to be patient if you wanted the lower pricing. |

It's not just RRA, all of the premium manufacturers are backed up. I understand your point regarding the lack of communication from them. The more people that call them and inquire, the less time everyone has, to do something more productive like build rifles. I would much rather have a perfect rifle and wait for it, than to have a mass produced one that meets minimum spec. I purchased a predator pursuit on Gun Broker and paid a $110 premuim over list price this summer. |
As I've said before I'm now on a freakin quest. Having learned what's available once my kit does arrive it'll be the last time I order from RR. Customer svc is "nice" but very ineffective. Oh well.....

Considering that they're the only people from whom I can purchase a double-lathed lightweight chrome-lined mid-length barrel setup without voiding my factory warrenty for my RRA rifle......yes. They make exactly what I want, at a reasonable price. The free-market, plus Obongo's stupidity and RRA's relatively small manufacturing plant, dictate the wait time. If someone wants to change their demands for a part, or wishes to pay more to get something sooner, that's their call, as the market gives them those options. For me, my money is at a higher premium than my time, so I can afford to wait, while it would be difficult for me to afford to buy a lesser product and then send it to ADCO to get lathed to the same profile.
So I'll wait. I ordered from them knowing it would be a few months before my order was filled. So....a more applicable question in my case would be "would you order from them if their wait times were shorter", in which case my answer would STILL be yes. To each their own, as their interests, wallet, and the free market allow. |
| Some issues have nothing to do with the election. I ordered my 9mm integral in September before the election. I waited eleven months before it was built. They should be up front and not offer guns for sale that they can not build and ship in a reasonable amount of time. Or at least state that there will be almost a years backlog. |

Quoted: I'm just puzzled, there was no real issue with buying truly top quality stuff at any time since the election, I have probably built 10 or so since the election and all were with top notch parts. I don't get paying a premium and waiting 7 months. I think we were paying for the name. About the only thing in .223 that RRA makes better than anyone else is the 2 stage trigger. Nothing else is worth the wait. I ordered a butt stock kit, and they sent me the wrong buffer tube. Knowing how long it would take to get the right parts, I just ordered another kit from Bushmaster. And this was BEFORE the election. I can't imagine how long it would be now. I came to the RRA forum to check for reviews on their .40SW carbine. Forget it, I'll just get a Beretta Storm. |
