I am looking into getting my first AR.  I have been reading around a little trying to learn something.  I was leaning toward building one at this time.  This was going to be a general use rifle, no match or long range shooting.  I figured for my first rifle I could go with the Rock River complete rifle kit CAR A4 (item ar4001 / ar4002 )  I had a few questions and looking for general input on this as a first buy.

-I was leaning toward a flat top mainly for the ability to change later.  I am not planning on putting any optics on at this time.  It is my understanding I can add a BUIS directly to the flat top.  Is this true? True

-Does anybody know the wait time for the kits.  I know most things are back ordered around 20 weeks or so.Last i heard they are not even quoting time frames.

-I am planning to use a Rock River lower receiver with this.  Since I am using all RRA parts would there be any advantages in ordering an assembled rifle?Well, the only advantage would be, factory assemble(done right) and lifetime warranty(not sure if it applies to rifle kits).
