It all started when I got my CAR kit.  I was spraying a little bit of degreaser on the upper to clean off the thick grease it was packed in before I applied some CLP and put it away.  Well, when the degreaser evaporated off the ejection port cover, it was obvious a bit of rust had formed there.

That kind of freaked me out so I checked every bit of every part I could.  Sure enough there was some more rust inside the back end of the bolt carrier.  The ejection port cover I sanded with a 600 grit paper to remove the rust.  For the bolt carrier I used Naval Jelly.  I got virtually all of the rust, but some of the parkerization or bluing (not sure which finish they use) was removed also.

I figure I'd just buy another bolt carrier group.  I'd have spare parts and a brand new BCG I hadn't messed with.

Problem is the new RRA bolt carrier group I got from PK Firearms doesn't cycle smoothly.  I can't tell what is wrong exactly, but the last two inches or so of pull on the charging handle are not smooth and the BCG sticks there.  I see no difference between the new BCG and the old one that would cause this.

Should I call RRA or PK to exchange the BCG?

Does anybody know what might be going on with the new BCG?
