Hey Steve, A few months ago I recall reading about updated (latching) LAR-8 charging handles becoming available sometime. Are they available now, and if so and what do I have to do to get one? Thanks! |

We contacted every dealer who had been sent an LAR-8 prior to the switchover to determine whether he wanted the charging handle to go to them or the customer (he would have to provide the info). Many nver responded, so we finally shipped the last of the improved chargfing handles to those dealers this week. Contact your dealer and he should already have it in hand or be getting it very soon. | I received mine in the mail yesterday, mailed directly from RRA. I think they got my info from the warranty card. I'm impressed that Rock River went the extra mile to ship out the new charging handles and paid the shipping, but I was disappointed in the finish. The rod part of the handle had the usual smooth powder coat finish, but the T-handle was spray painted flat black and doesn't match the rest of the rifle. I know I'm being picky, but the replacement handle isn't up to the usual QC standards of RRA. BTW, the original handle did "pop out" several times when shooting the rifle, but only about an inch. It did concern me that I might get popped in the face if it snagged on the bolt carrier. |

Rifles didn't go out in serial number sequence, so I don't know for certian. If your LAR-8 has a charging handle that has the top detent instead of a standard latch, we want to replace it. If you have the latch, you have the new handle and you're good to go. Steve/RRA |
