| I'm finishing up a lower using a RRA lower parts kit. However, I'm wondering exactly what kind of tool I need to fully tighten the pistol grip screw. The general build guides show screws with a flat head slot cut into them while mine is a hexagonal depression a bit too big for my allen wrench. What tool should I pick up to be able to reach this thing and secure it? |

From what I've seen RRA is the only company that uses hex head grip screws. Maybe I'm worng. All I know is that if I see a LPK with a flat head grip screw advertised as RRA I walk away thinking the seller or dealer is screwing me. Sorry this was kinda an off topic comment. |

The slot-heads are the mil-spec, but they are also far easier to "booger up" going in or out, and much harder to get out if you do mess it up. I've known several people who have had to cut away a chunk of their grip, and re cut a new slot in a slotted screw (kinda make a Phillips out of it) just to get the old screw out...and reinstalled a hex head when they're done swearing and have stopped bleeding.
