I am about to order my first AR and plan on mounting an EOTech sight on it. I am either going to get an Elite UTE2 or an Elite CAR w/ a dominator sight. Does any one have a picture showing the sight picture for both of these mounts. I would like to see where the post shows before I decide which to order. Thanks B |

I don't have photos of it, but can provide a basic description. As it applies to the EO511/512 and 551/552, mounting them directly to the flat top upper receiver (A4 or forward portion of the UTE-2) puts the dot rougly on top of the front sight post ("co-witness"). Mounted to the Dominator Mount, leaves the dot floating above the post (the mount provides just over a quarter of an inch rise over the upper receiver) in a "lower third co-witness". The EO553/557 have the same raise in height built into their bases, so no mount it necessary and, even if they fit, which they don't, the Dissipator would not be necessary for the increased height.
