Good afternoon Steve.

Well because of my satisfaction with my 18" Varmint, I'm looking at purchasing a NM A4 in the not to distant future. Just a question please...

What is the barrel contour of this model?

Know anybody looking for '55 M1 Garand HRA 99% Correct Grade...once I sell this, I'll be shopping for the NM.

It's a match HBAR, stainless, 1:8 with Wylde chamber.

J/K... Well duh, I got that off the website.

I mean the taper / dimensionally, breach to muzzle...under the handguards as well. I'm surprised at the extra weight on this compared to my 18"er and was trying to figure out the extra beef. Is this because of the sleeve under the HG's?

HBAR is HBAR for us.  No taper.  .920ish from in front of the chamber to the step behind the sight housing.
Yes, the weight is primarily the steel free float sleeve under the handguards.  Significantly heavier then the aluminum free float sleeve on your Varmint....while the longer barrel (even though HBAR versus Varmint) comes out pretty close in overall weight.
