While looking to replace the forearm of my entry tactical with a 4-rail forearm, various manufacturers note a "special model" is needed for both my rifle and a Colt M4.

Could anyone tell me the difference(s) between the handguard for an entry tactical and other models from RRA?

I don't have any idea.
We use the SureFire M73 interchangeably on the Entry Tacticals with no issues whatsoever.
Which companies are indicating the need for a special model?  I would like to find out why and for what reason they are making that statement.
Thanks.

In particular, it is a yankee hill 2-piece:

I just talked to YHM...I'm trying to get an Entry Tactical upper half to them to take a look at and some measurements from.  Apparently they have two models of that rail, one that they desdcribe as being for a Colt, and one for everyone else, and the tech I talked to said it had to do with the handguard cap.  In this instance, apparently both Colt and RRA are using mil-spec M4 HG caps, while many others apparently are not.  Once they get an upper from me and can confirm that this is the case, they'll have to change their description and I'll know something that I didn't know previously...and share it here.

My 2 cents

I put a Daniel Defense quad rail on my entry tactical. It is the same one that is an option when you order from RRA. I liked it over the standard RRA quad rails because it is not as wide. I found it more comfortable. Not an issue if you have big hands.
