What is the benefit of the star safety selector ?  I just recieved my new elite car a4 and I really like it but I'm not sure I like the safety selector. It seems too small for my thumb. It is listed on the specifications sheet as if it were an upgrade frome the standard selector but I'm not sure why. Any help or ideas on this ?   thanks

One reason is tactile identification.  Inthe dark in particular, its easier to identify what position your selector is in by touch alone.  Follow the "beam" right to the position.
