Petey,
Good looking rig...and you're even usingthe Tac Mount the way it was designed. Steve/RRA |
|
|
Thanks Steve! I love the gun. Keep on making great rifles, and I will buy more ....when I can afford it of course. -Pete |

Judging by some of the "toys" I've seen on this site, I don't think being able to afford it has ever entered into the discussion...at least here on ARFCOM.
That said, we all have our vices, and one that you can enjoy the use of and still have it hold its value isn't a bad thing. Steve/RRA |

With no reference points to make the determination, and from the angle of the photo, that berm looks like its about ten feet in front of you! I'm assuming that it's actually very tall and is a considerable distance out there.
Have fun. Steve/RRA |

Just got my Mid A4 upper on thursday 6/7.
This is my first AR and first AR build. All direct from RRA with the exception of the stripped lower. I ordered the upper on feb 17, for those who are still in the wait. So aproximatly 3 month wait for me. Two stage trigger. Hogue grip. CAA adjustible stock. A4 upper receiver. Chrome lined mid barrel. Smith Vortex flash hider. YHM flip up gas block assembly. Daniel Defense quad rail 12.0FSPM. Badger latch. LaRue Tactical quick detach Aimpoint mount. Aimpoint M3. Viking sling. Graphite quick detach fore grip. The only item not to come in was the A.R.M.S. 40L rear sight. Oh YEAH!!!! And some pic's. I know the rear pin isn't pushed all the way in, but it was a pain in the arse. So I left it half through so it would be easier to take apart to clean before I take it out and feed it for the first time. href=http://img245.imageshack.us/img245/6408/ar15022vm3.jpg http://img292.imageshack.us/img292/9053/ar15012lw7.jpg http://img152.imageshack.us/img152/9100/ar15003ar1.jpg |

That is different.
I've been around here for five years and don't remember having ever seen a comped RRA 1911...I guess I don't get into the pistol shop often enough. Steve/RRA |
|
|
Yeah I had you guys build this to shoot a plate match. I have another one with a JP red dot to be able to shoot in Open Class. You guys sure do know how to build em right. Thanks |

I've got a Basic Carry that makes it look too easy to get great groups. I'm the first to admit to not being a "1911 Guy"...but the one I got is putting everything into about a one inch group, pretty much where I'm aiming it. I never envisioned paying as muchas I did for "a .45"...but it is a real shooter and worth every dime of the money. The only thing I've done to it is change the grips to some black micarta slabs. One of my friends is going to use it in the Single Stack Classic next year 'cause it shoots better for him than any of the other 1911s he's tried over the past several years.

Here's my first RRA, Tactical CAR A4 with an EOTech 512 sight. I know it should be on a dominator mount but this works for me

I'm not always right , but I'm not really wrong either!!!

Good looking rig.
The UTE-2 (while not quite as versatile as an A4) is a great upper choice for those who want a low-mounted red dot sight but still want good, solid, always-there iron sights that require no manipulation to engage a target should the optic go "bad". Steve/RRA |

I've posted these on other threads here, but they are RRA, and this is their home.http://i203.photobucket.com/albums/aa179/Johnny_Sasaki20/DSC_00981.jpg

What optic is that, and how's your eye relief with it set back that far? Just more info for my tech file.Thanks.
Steve/RRA |
|
|
It's not a very good scope, but it get's the job done for now. It's a S&W 3-9 X 42mm. I plan on upgrading soon.
The eye relief is okay, but as you can see, I have the butt in the 6th position, and I seem to be the only one who can see through it. I didn't install it myself, the guy at the gun shop did. Quick question. Can you tell from these photos if I have a crush washer on my barrel. I don't know what's wrong (or if anything is for that matter), but I can't seem to get my flash hider off. I was wondering because I would like to get a suppressor soon. |
|
|
I can't tell, but it looks like there's a cruch washer there...smooth piece between the back of the flash hider and the barrel's shoulder.
You should be able to put the upper in a vise block and, relative to the muzzle from the front, put a wrench on the flats of the flash hider and take it off by turning counter clockwise. Don't try to force anything, however. It shouldn't take excessive effort to get off, as the torque spac is fairly low and the crush washer's"push" is relaytive to how tight it is to begin with. Steve/RRA |
|
|
It's not a gap, that's the washer. And thanks, I was trying to take it off a few days ago and it wouldn't budge. I heard somewere that some don't come off, so I was just wondering.
