On 1/20/06 I ordered (online), several parts from RRA... gas tube, Delta Ring Kit, Buffer, Lower Parts kit and a 16" R-4 style chrome lined barrel.

All the parts (with the exception of the barrel), were received in about a week and a half. It's now  3/29/06, but no barrel as of yet (that's 68 days and counting).

I called the parts department a few times to try and get at least an estimated time frame. First time the response I got was "a barrel shipment is due in a week... blah, blah, blah".

Second Time I called the response was something to the effect that a barrel shipment was received, but the person I spoke with wasn't certain if part of that shipment included the style that I ordered.

I called yesterday. The response I got was that all the barrels being received were destined for completely built rifles and there was no expected delivery date or time frame for my order.

What's the problem here?

I love the RRA product, but this shipping delay is getting ridiculous.

If it helps any, the invoice number is 9501.

Customer ID is 3873760912

I'd really appreciate some attention to this problem.

LoginName,
Straight and simple, we're behind on barrels in general, and CL R4 in particular. Orders for them are huge, and we only get so many (usually several hundred) through at a time.  The next batch in (about a week and a half out) should satisfy all current back-orders.

Steve,

Just curious.  How long does it take you guys to actually construct a full rifle from the point that you all recieve the barrel?

Normally a day or two to get the barrel sey up, parkerized (not on stainless, of course), and prepped.  Then, depending on work load, another day to build it up, shoot it, package it, etc...
When we have back orders, we try to go from the oldest back ordr to the newest order.  That said, if there are seventy orders with order dates older than yours, you're 71st in line...which means that while the individual build takes approximately the same time per unit, the number of units dictates the actual production of product for any given order.

Today is the 13th.

70th in line or 71st... 10th or 11th; are any solitary barell orders being shipped out to non-dealer customers?

Yes.
