I bought a new complete RRA Tactical CAR A4 at the end of last month. The gun store had it on order and things were delayed a little while they built it, so I got it fresh off the UPS truck. It came in a RRA cardboard box. Today I got the RRA catalog in the mail. The catalog says the Tactical CAR A4 comes with a "Safe Case." Mine was just in a RRA cardboard box. Any idea why a safe case didn't come with the rifle? Thanks, Mike |

I hope I'm not out of turn for replying to this, but as I recall, the safe case is a new feature for the "06 model year" (my term). I want to say I saw a post in the last week or so saying that the safe case started shipping very recently. If you look at page 3 of the catalog, it mentions that this is a new feature. Their previous catalog did not have it listed. ETA: Found it. In this thread, dated 7 March, Steve from RRA says, "The new Safe Cases started shipping with rifles at the end of last week." Looks like you just missed it. On the upside, you probably missed the price increase too. |

It all depends on several factors, but the biggest is order date. The new catalog's effective date was Feb 9. Orders from before that date should have gone out in boxes, not the new cases. Even some of the orders from after that date did, unfortunately, have to go out in the boxes because of delays on the cases, which finally were in-hand March 2. Curently, almost every rifle is ging out cased, with the exception of a few back orders, rifles that come in the Eagle case as part of a package, and those with Surefire M500 handguard/light systems, which just won't fit the case. There may be other combinations that won't fit, but that one was intended as it would have required a much different case. Steve/RRA |
I got mine Entry Tactical ordered on 02/20/06. The selling dealer stated that the current prices reflect RRA price increase. Got it just in 4 days! and not in the Safe Case. Oh well, I am not going to cry about it to loud, though the extra "freebee" for that "price increase" would be definitely a big plus..... |
