| Just received my Factory built 9MM back from the factory hopefully with its jamming problem fixed. Don’t know what they did the only repair note says adjusted. Decided to mount on my Dominator finally to see how it would work. To my surprise it will not fit. The black 9MM buffer is too large and needs to be trimmed to get the Dominator on. When I received the rifle the Dust cover would not work as it was hitting the buffer. I had to trim actually stone the dust cover to get it to work out of the box. Any one else had to deal with an oversized buffer? I said black because I ordered a green rifle and received a green rifle with a black buffer. I asked them to swap the black buffer with a green one but it came back with the same black buffer and also without my magazine. My question anyone know a good way to trim the buffer? And yes I am a little irritated. But I will get over it, as I know Rock River rifles are great. |
| FMJ's 100% reliable. They are not very accurate however. With eotech shoot 10-12 inches at 100 yards. I did run some 115JHP's to run they did 2 -3 inches for 10 shots at 100 yards. Anyone have a suggestion on a reliable JHP to try? Any one know if the UZI magazine will feed JHP? |

The Uzi mag, if properly modified, should feed (reasonably) anything. Make sure the mag block hasn't slipped a little bit. The feed ramp is part of the block, so if it moves up or down even a little bit, it will affect feeding. As to the accuracy, I've had decent accuracy from most factory loads, but my best accuracy has been with the NATO standard 124gr and heavier rounds. Mine particularly like the 147gr JHPs. Steve/RRA |
| Yesterday got back my UZI magazine. Just got in from the range feed 200 JHP with it without a problem. The mag block no longer moves around. Whatever has done to it at the factory has it in there rock solid. I keep checking the screw and it has not moved. Will get some 147 JHP's on order and give them a try. Believe it or not no one stocks them locally. |
| Yesterday went out with lots of ammo JHP and FMJ. Started having failures to feed with all the JHP’s again. Also looked like it was failing to eject a few times discovered that the mag block had slipped down again. How in the world do you keep this tight so it will not move? Also now with the bolt locked back a light tap on the rifle and the bolt slams forward. I didn’t do that before but sure does now. Even after readjusting the mag block I still had occasional failures to feed. FMJ’s feed even when the mag block has slipped. What is the fix for this? If my mag block isn’t defective. I would think the only way it will stay in place is by pinning. I think I am just jealous all the other factory built Rock River I hear about work like a champ. What is the fix for mine? |

I'm not certain. If the mag block is out of place downward, it should have the same feeding issues regardless of load, unless the JHPs are crushing into the lip and hanging up onthe edge, as the magblock also has the feed ramp built into it. I don't know about the slippage. I put mine in place approx.14000 rounds ago, and haven't ahd any problems. I did use blue loc-tite onthe set screw once I had it placed where I needed it to be (I dedicated the lower to the 9mm) and put the screw in as far and as hard as I could and it hasn't moved since. Is the bolt catch releasing under all circumstances? Just with mag installed? let me know and we'll try to figure it out. Steve/RRA |
| This gun is a factory built 9MM. I keep it set up only as a 9MM. I have no plans of ever taking the block out. The JHP’s are not hanging up on the feed ramp. They clear the feed ramp every time they hang up on the top of the chamber. If you follow this they are tilted up caught on the top of the chamber not on the feed ramp. The bolt goes forward with the lightest tap to the gun with the magazine removed. It did not do that before the trip to the factory for repair. Very glad to hear you have 14,000 rounds through yours with out a problem. I keep hearing on the board the RR 9MM work great. But unfortunately for me mine does not. |

The ramp angle and location is essential..so if the block is low, you could very well end up with rounds nosing up...with bullet type making a big difference in this case. Could you give me/us a call during business hours, or IM me with your contact info and we can call on our dime (if its okay with you). I want to walk through several questions with you, and get our lead armorer on the line as well to try to diagnose it for you a little better than we can going back and forth in these exchanges. Thanks. Steve/RRA |

you guys needs to fix the pin holding the extractor. Mine slipped enough to let the extractor come free within the first 100 rounds. Picked up a replacement pin at Lowe's and it feels much tighter. This seems to have been a known issue, but I didn't think it would appear so fast. Hopefully I didn't damage the extractor as it was working for a few rounds here and there as I diagnosing the problem. I assumed it was a magazine related issue so trying multiple magazines. Is the edge at the tip of the extractor meant to be slightly flattened? |
| Received my Rock River 9MM back from the factory with a turn time of 15 days. I think that is great service. Multiple parts have been replaced. Bottom line shot 750 rounds this weekend mostly JHP with one malfunction. The one malfunction was not the gun but clearly a bad WW JHP. Put on a 12X scope to test accuracy. Shot 1/2 to 3/4” 50 yard groups with good 115 grain JHP. 100 yard groups run right at 2”, 150 yard 4” and 200 yard 5-6”. Yes I know this isn’t a 200 yard gun just wanted to see with the 12X scope what it would do. Put back my Eotech and the fun began. So far the magazine block has remained in place. The only minor difficulty is that the clip that retains the dust cover rod is not on the gun. Don’t know if it shipped that way or came off during shooting. Thank You Rock River and Steve for the great work. |
