@palmettostatearmory - I'm sure it's been mentioned before, but now that you are into 5.45x39 AKs I would love to see you offer a KS74 variant. An AR pistol with 12" 5.45x39 CHF barrel that takes 5.45 AK mags would be an awesome, awesome gun.
My KS47 has been fantastic and glad I got one! |

It is something that someday we would like to do, but it would be probably "year(s)" away thing at this point. Thank you, Josiah |

Ok well I got it tore down. A5 tube, tubbs ar10 flatwire, and starting with the 4.56oz vltor buffer. Waiting on the gibbz upper to get here this week. Wish I could find a good 2pc adjustable gas block in stock. But they seem sold out everywhere I look. I heard Wilson just came out with one in a brownell's email but them and superlative on backorder everywhere. Anybody else's feed ramp lug on barrel look edgy and deformed on top?

The Brown Bear subs cycled the rifle, but it was louder than the PPU subs. I don’t think I’d call it hearing-safe, but it was not uncomfortable to shoot without ear protection on.
ETA: the Toth Tool mag worked perfectly and I’ll probably be ordering those exclusively going forward. |

Question on barrels for the KS47. I was up at one of the PSA locations a few months ago just as things were starting to sell out. I had been checking out the KS47's on youtube and ended up spur of the moment buying a 8.5 complete upper at the store. I intended to order a pistol lower once I got home being I was from out of state but when I got home the SBA3 lowers were always out of stock so I ended up shelving the upper and I started having buyers remorse over getting a 8.5 barrel so I never bought a lower for it.
I can't get any 5.56 at an affordable price but I've been able to get 7.62x39 and being this will be the norm for some time I'm gonna start shooting 7.62. I've been debating between buying the lower and a longer barrel for the KS47 or buying one of the other PSA AK's. I'm curious if anyone is running a 14.5 pin & welded barrel on their KS47? I think the 10.5 is still kinda too short but I don't want to go 16" either so was thinking of that sweet spot with the 14.5 & pin/weld a Surefire warcomp on it so I could go suppressed later if I choose. I'm curious if anyone has gone that route and is there any good 14.5 barrels out there for these guns? |

So, im seeing the KS47 classic lower still in stock, Im wanting to get a AK rifle of some kind, but none are in stock that I particular want (unless the thing about Century Arms being terrible is no longer a thing...)
Any ideas when the rifle uppers will be back in stock? or the stripped upper receiver that I found there (and I will say, am completely happy to find.) |

View Quote I watch their site pretty regularly and I haven't seen striped upper or lowers in quite some time for the KS47. I'm not sure if they still sell them. Also, barrels have been pretty rare the last month or two. As far as uppers go they routinely stock the 8.5's, 10.5's and 16". They usually don't sell out super fast so as long as you check the site every day you will probably catch them when listed. They also list complete guns almost weekly at least once a week I see one or 2 of the KS47 models as complete guns. They had both 8.5 & 16' complete guns this week. Simply check the site every day and you will see them because as I said the KS stuff doesn't sell out like the AKV's, AKP's, AKE's and 103 which all get sold out in minutes. Also, they tend to list the KS47's early in the day and the other AK's later in the day. Also far as the lowers, the last 2 months at least the complete lowers have been in stock pretty regularly. The pistol SBA3 brace one does sell out and sometimes takes a bit of time to get back in stock though. |

None so far. The only failure I have had is full mag with poly coat. Lacquer is way smoother and it only happened on new bulgarian fwiw...could be tight spring but lacquer case wtg imo

Wondering if anyone with a KS47 has used a Geissele handguard? Looking to finish up my pistol build and would like to use a 10” MK4 handguard. I think the anti-rotation tabs will interfere with the upper receiver profile though.

They have antif-rotation tabs also. All you have to do is grind off the tabs and the handguards will fit just fine. |

Man I bought a lower months ago and haven’t seen an upper yet. Some assembled rifles but other than that nada. Anybody have a lead on one or can point me in the direction of a bolt and barrel? I guess I could build off the Gibbz receiver if I could find that.
Hard to believe they are selling lowers with no uppers to go on them. But I guess better business to have entire crew assembling standard ARs. |

Well that’s bs if they are going to sell lowers and not uppers. Warm feels about that $350 lower I bought that may never be used.

Not uncommon at all in the AK world to need some fitting of mags. I went to the range last Friday and tested the following mags KCI 10, 20 and 30 Rd Steel mags run fine on my PSA-KS 47 Bulgarian Polymer mags with Steel inserts work fine (no issues) and sit tight in the mag well. Croatian mags lock in but after first shot don't cycle Magpul Polymer mags don't fit easily or lock in unless you push back the magazine release to keep them locked in. Some of the Magpul mags even fell off the mag well during shooting session unless I forced the magazine latch to the rear. Im disappointed since I have 20 of these mags in 10rds, 20rds and 30rds version. I did see a similar issue with my Wasr 10 with the magazines not fitting into the mag well. I looked at the Magpul mags and noticed they had a marking on the side of the number 9. I found another Magpul mag in my range bag and it had a number 12 marking. I tested the mag and it worked fine and locked easily with my KS-47 and Wasr-10. In the meantime, I planning to buy more Bulgarian mags. Anyone experiencing the same issue? |

Originally Posted By JBerk:Anybody else's feed ramp lug on barrel look edgy and deformed on top? View Quote I’m experiencing the same thing. Wondering about that as well. PSA barrel, Young’s manufacturing bcg machined with AK mag clearance. Only about 100 rounds though it, mainly steel case. Same on both my 10.5” pistol and 16” builds. I’ll have to figure out how to post photos. Didn’t have this issue with my 11.5” BRA barrel I modified the barrel extension on before changing to the PSA barrel. |

It's pretty obvious what needs to be adjusted, and it takes a couple of minutes with a file to take off the few thousandths required to adjust the fit. Once installed, it works very well. |
