| now that I have confirmed proper operation of my PA10, I want to free float the barrel, and scope it up. .i need a .750 gas block, my question is should I use a set screw type or clamp on? what are the pros and cons of each? what have you guys used and why? |

Either one is fine. Clamp on is generally stronger, but the trade off is they are larger (in most cases). If you have the handguard going over the gas block, the strength advantage is irrelevant as the hand guard would take any impact that may have moved the gas block.
Another option is to just chop the stock a2 FSB and use it. You'll still have the pinned gas block which is the strongest and you don't have to buy anything other than some high temp paint if you don't already have it. |

| Another vote for chopping/shaving the FSB. it's what I plan on doing after I get mine built and function tested. Depending on how deep the pins go through the barrel a set screw gas block might not stay on very well, and clamp on gas blocks are quite a bit bigger and might not fit under all rails. |
