I currently own a standard 20" PSA upper (8905), is item #482615 the right length FF rail for me to use to swap out the non FF handguards to turn this into a FF barrel?  What comes with this FF rail?  Do I use the existing barrel nut or do I need a new barrel nut?  Other than a combination wrench, punches, and small hammer, do I need additional components to install this FF rail?  I would like to keep the original front sight base and I want to make sure the 11" rail would not interfere with the front sight base after installation.

You will need an armorers wrench to remove the existing barrel nut, upper receiver vise blocks to hold the receiver, then the handguard should come with a new barrel nut to use. If you want to remove the FSB to take off teh handguard cap, you're gonna need a BFH and good punches. Those things are in there tight. I bent my punches driving them out

Or you could buy one of the many ff handguards out there that work with a standard barrel nut.  I know Samson makes them, can't remember others off the top of my head.

I've got all of that, however I don't see anywhere in the description that a barrel nut is included with the rail  I'm hoping someone from PSA can confirm that the rail contains a barrel nut for this type of rail.  The only mention of a barrel nut for this rail is "these rails have a proprietary barrel nut...", the photos don't show a barrel nut.  Just want to confirm whether this is all I need, or whether I need to pickup other parts to make this actually work.

Thank you for your inquiry.

The rail comes complete with barrel nut and screws needed for install on a new upper.

However, Because the upper you inquired about has a rifle length gas system, this particular rail will leave a gap between the end of the rail and the front sight base if installed on sku 8905.

Please inspect your upper to make sure it is as ordered before modifications.  Disassembly can have warranty implications.

What length rail do you recommend for a rifle length gas system?  I am keeping the front sight block on the 20" upper.

Just purchased this and I am in the process of installing it on my PA-10.  I have a PA 10 upper and it lines up perfectly and comes with the barrel nut you need for the install (which fits as well).  Not going to lie, it is a pain in the ass to put on but a 7 minute youtube video later, we were able to get it installed and looks AWESOME!

I believe OP was inquiring about a 5.56 upper.

To keep the FSB you will need a 12" rail for a 5.56.

If you do not want to disturb the fsb, there are several 2-piece rails available that can be installed without removing the fsb or barrel nut, but they will require you to cut off the delta ring.
