Hi guys,

I recently bought a new PSA 18" CHF 223 Wylde 1:8 Rifle Gas SSK 15" running on a PSA lower with Magpul CTR, Carbine length buffer tube, damage industries chrome silicon spring with Spike ST-T2 buffer.

Since I'm running the rifle length gas system on a carbine buffer I wanted to know if the brass casings are ejecting normal. Can someone tell by looking at the brass deflector marks? Should I get the H2 buffer?

Btw. I used CLP, frog lube, Hoppe’s Elite cleaner, rag, and eraser but nothing's removing that brass mark.

Anyone know what else I could do to remove that?

Thank you!

Normal....personally i wouldnt even bother removing it....but hoppes elite gun cleaner will take it off

edit....saw you already tried hoppes....maybe scrub harder?

That's completely normal, and that's why it's there. Mine usually comes off with oil, though I wouldn't bother. It's going to happen every time you shoot.

So....you're concerned with markings from the spent brass...on the brass deflector? If that's going to bother you, might as well go ahead and take the firing pin out of the rifle and dedicate it as a safe queen. If you fire the weapon, you're going to have these marks. If you don't want the marks, better not fire the weapon.

I'm trying to find out if my upper is over or under gassed. If I need to replace my ST-T2 to H2 buffer.

I saw the ejection angle chart and I'm not sure if I should be look at the angle brass is flying after it bounces off the deflector.

For example: if it's over gassed, does the casing fly out towards 12:00-3:00 position straight out or after bouncing off the deflector?

No. That's perfect. Assuming 3:00.

Either way, there's a lot of variables and the chart is not the end all be all for gas issues. Your rifle is fine - just shoot it. If you get malfunctions then start trouble shooting.
