What is the difference between FN barrels listed defined as premium, CHF, and heavy. im not even sure that all those are FN. I know the CHF are FN's. heavy barrel is the profile under the handguard. not tapered/fluted down. its constant dimater all the way through. premium, is a psa designation for a top line barrel, but doesnt necessarily designate as being a CHF. |

I think I get it. Reason I ask is I see there is a premium carbine length upper assembly, a carbine length upper with a CHF barrel, and a mid length upper with heavy profile barrel all for the same price. All barrels are listed as FN barrels. I'm not sure which one I want (I can't afford all three). |

I've got the 16" CHF barreled one here now that I've had since 2012 and its a tack driver. I like it so much I ordered a 2nd one this current sale.....its the same price as the current premium 16" on sale |

Its the best of the best. |
| Good, better, and best is the rating system I use. the non-CHF FN barrel would be the "better" option. CHF, in theory, is more durable for high round count and extended rapid-fire utility. Some speculate that they are more accurate. I have both and can't see a noticeable difference in accuracy. They both exhibit excellent accuracy for me. Is the juice worth the squeeze? For the price difference I would say yes to the CHF. |
